The @TodayShow finds Kris Jenner’s breast implants more important than 9-11

It’s not just downright insensitive, but stupid as well:

At 8:46 AM, in New York City and at the White House in Washington DC, there was a moment of silence to remember when the first plane hit the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. In New York, the NYPD, FDNY, Port Authority Police and the families of the victims were present, while in Washington the President and the First Lady led the moment.

The cable networks all carried it, with ABC’s β€œGood Morning America” and β€œCBS This Morning” carrying it as well. The only national general news program to not carry the moment of silence was NBC’s β€˜Today,” which, in an odd bit ofΒ counter-programming, opted to air an interview with β€œKeeping Up With the Kardashians” star Kris Jenner, who talkedΒ aboutΒ the new season of the reality show, and her breast implants.

After the moment of silence ended, ABC went right to an interview with actor Richad Gere, while CBS went straight into aΒ commercialΒ break.

Per TV Newser, the local NBC coverage (WNBC in NYC) went to the moment of silence but nationally, people watching the Today Show got this. Β BuzzFeed has split screen images of the two other “big three” networks and what they were broadcasting the same time Jenner was being interviewed on the Today Show.

For shame, Today Show.

What were they thinking? Answer: They weren’t. There simply aren’t any credible excuses for this. None.
