Sunday Football Open Thread

Well, it’ll be a relaxing day for Panthers fans because the team has a bye this week and therefore can’t embarrass themselves on a football Sunday … or so we hope.

I won the office pool last week! And am hoping to make it two in a row, something I’ve never done.  Here are my picks:

Pitt (L)
Den (38 points)

What sayeth you?

BTW, here’s an update on Panthers player Greg Olsen, his wife, and one of their newborn twins who was born earlier this week with a heart defect (which they knew about during the pregnancy):

Dr. Benjamin B. Peeler, Chief of Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiothoracic Surgery at Levine Children’s Hospital on Greg Olsen’s son, TJ:

“TJ underwent surgery Thursday and did very well. He is a strong baby. His postoperative course thus far has been very smooth; however, this is a high risk condition as well as a high-risk surgical procedure. The postoperative course can be unpredictable and complicated. Our team continues to care for TJ very closely in the cardiac intensive care unit. We are very hopeful that TJ’s recovery will continue on the same smooth course. The average time in the hospital after the Norwood procedure is about 40 days.”

Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

The 49ers face the Giants at home today. It think the bookies are being generous giving us a 6 point edge; three or even would be more like it. The two teams have played each other pretty close in previous meetings.

On the other hand, NY’s secondary is injured and their defensive line hasn’t been the force it was last year, so maybe we do have a bit of an edge. We’ll see.

Oh, and congratulations on winning the pool! Glad we could do our part. :)

Watching the Cowboys and their spectacular talent for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is almost as agonizing as listening to an all-too-frequent Obhammud speech, as in “Wheah’s yo’ dollahs?”

    – ST, Hillary nuked the WH and Obama today. Its all starting to make sense. When Obama was standing over the coffins of our four dead Americans, repeating the lies, she seemed really stressed out and wouldn’t even look at him.

    – She must have drawn a line in the sand and refused to continue the lies, so they rushed Rice out to the talk shows to continue the false narrative.

    – Obama is totally trapped now that she has gone public.

    – They needed a cover story because they had CIA assets at the consulate, when none were supposed to be there, so they used the video, but they made a huge mistake when they tried to scape goat Hillary.
