Aww: Tina Fey tired of being mistaken for Sarah Palin

Politico reports:

Tina Fey isn’t thrilled that she’s constantly associated with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whom she famously impersonated during the 2008 presidential election. From Rolling Stone:

As the late-middle-aged couple at the table next to us get up, the male half approaches, grinning: “Excuse me, aren’t you Governor Sarah Palin?” It’s so lame that Fey can barely manage a quarter of a fake smile. “Not for, like, three years now,” she says, looking as if she’d like to dive under the table.

The guy has his gag, though, and he’s going to run with it. “I so enjoy watching you on Fox,” he says.

“Thank you, have a nice day,” she replies. As he walks away, she murmurs, “Until the day I die. Until the day I die.”

I don’t feel one bit sorry for Tina Fey on this issue. Considering she’s largely responsible for perpetuating the enduring lie that Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from her house (Palin never said that) – a lie that often gets repeated and largely goes unquestioned by low information voters, keeping in mind how she lapped up the accolades of her Palin “performances” and milked the extra fame that came with it for all it was worth, and how all of it inadvertently helped make her a lifetime household name beyond the people who watch her on 30 Rock and SNL, I hope she gets mistaken for Palin for the rest of her life.

Do Liberals ever do anything other than indulge in hypocrisy and whine?

  2. Carlos says:

Gosh, ya know, Tina, if you could go back and do it all over again, my guess is that the fleeting 13.2 seconds of undeserved and shameful fame would still be too much for you to resist.

So, live with it, female dog. You made the bed, stay in it until you understand how the world really works. Your reaction now only shows the overwhelming ignorance associated with being a statist/elitist, wondering why the world doesn’t do what YOU want it to; it exhibits a frightening amount of false hubris that is associated with other megalomaniacs like Dear Leader.

Bottom line? Have you ever, seriously EVER, done anything to make life better for any other single individual without the expectation of a payback in some form or another?

    I thought not.

I wish Rahm Emanuel’s accomplices who tried to bankrupt Palin in 2009 would serve Fey papers with fake ethics charges so she could know what a “heroic brave operation” feels like.

  4. Lorica says:

All this says to me is that Sarah Palin is more popular with the people that Tina Fey. When Tina’s show gets cancelled, and Sarah is still on Fox News, then perhaps it will sink in…. but then again look who I am talking about. LOL :) – Lorica

  5. Robert says:

Tina Fey should be thankful of the popularity of Sarah Palin. She should be thankful that she could be made up to look like Sarah Palin. Her impression of Sarah Palin took her from being unheard of all the way up to almost unheard of.

  6. Mike says:

Tina, Sarah is beautiful and you are ugly.

  7. If it were not for Sarah Palin, Tina Fey would be the nobody she was destined to be. But this serves her right. The Follywood landscape is littered with the aborted careers of actors who aspired to greater things after being caught in a role that defined them.

  8. Great White Rat says:

It’s the law of unintended consequences at work. Fey deliberately tried to destroy Palin’s candidacy and career, and doubtless expected it to make her some sort of A-list celebrity among the leftists in Hollywood.

Well, you got your wish, so quit whining about the predictable results. Like Carlos said, you made your bed, now lie in it.

Her show already got cancelled, that lame-arsed show that had no ratings. It was just kept on the air to see how much they could mock conservatives. Now that Ear Leaders in, it can be safely whacked-the show, not her, unfortunately!:d

  11. Carlos says:

About the Law of Unintended Consequences: This quote is from a Yahoo! News blurb:

“There will be nothing done in my Senate [on immigration reform] without a pathway to citizenship,” the Democrat told the Las Vegas Sun on Thursday.

That was Dingy Harry speaking. Notice that now it is HIS Senate.

Thanks, fools of Nevada, for saddling us once again with an arrogant has-been punching bag whose loyalties lie first with the president, second with himself, next to last with the people who “elected” him (after counting all the ginned-up and illegal votes) and lastly with the country he was fortunate enough to be born in and we were unfortunate enough to find his mother didn’t abort him.

  12. Jim says:

Come on you guys, ease up on Tina. After all, the Palin schtick was the only time she was ever actually funny!

  13. Alan says:

Actually, I think that Ms. Fey is pretty close to being a decent human being, by Hollywood standards.
Which ain’t all that close but still.

Ms Palin certainly didn’t deserve the hatred that was piled upon her but Ms Fey wasn’t the worst by any means.

  14. TexasDoc says:

Of course, the narcissistic Tina Fey would never stoop to consider how much Palin hates being mistaken for her. That’s the real insult–being mistaken for a rather dimwitted TV star who has to rely on constant reminders of who she plays in order to generate publicity.

  15. Fox Lonestar says:

I think it would be fun to follow around Tina Fey and quote back her “Sarah Palin” lines at her until her face shows annoyance at how lame she is. Afterwards, thank “Sarah Palin” for listening and such before leaving. Maybe even do this for the next 5 years over Twitter or Facebook.

Being remembered for being a one-trick pony is “injury”. Being reminded that you are nothing but a one-trick pony everyday by the people you thought were laughing with you: simply beautiful “insult”.

tina fey wishes she was as beautiful as sarah palin

  17. John W says:

I half expected to see Tina Fey do a skit made up as Sarah during the recent Golden Globes telecast. And since Julianne Moore was a nominee for an award based on her mostly-fictional portrayal of Sarah in the abominable Game Changer film, I would not have been surprised if Julianne had also taken part in the skit made up as Sarah. However, given Hollywood’s recent penchant for doing sequels and prequels and remakes and reboots, obviously the creativity to do such a skit is lacking.

  18. Terry2u says:

:(( I wonder if Sarah Palin ever gets tired of being mistaken for Tina Fey?

  19. Sam says:

Please tell me what exactly Sarah Palin has done for the country? I not saying that she is a bad person but what actually has she done for the country too deserve such loyalty from people outside of her community? She didn’t even finish her tenure as governor. Instead she did a reality show. Honestly she is the reason I did not vote for John. She lost him the election and help set the Republican Party back. If she was truly thinking of the country and the party she would have been honest about her strengths and weaknesses and turned down the job.

  20. Milwaukee says:

Had Sarah not been on the ticket, the race would have been over sooner than it was.

Sarah has been a lightening rod, attracting the vitriol of the left for stating obvious facts.

Her resignation as Governor is further proof of her integrity and honor. Every single suit brought against her was dismissed. Remaining as Governor would have been a tremendous drain on the state. The socialist-progressive-leftist-Democrats are usually interested in the ends justifying the means, and “integrity” and “honor” are punch lines for jokes at their exclusive parties.

  21. Carlos says:

@Sam: Please tell me what exactly Sarah Palin has done to deserve the scorn heaped upon her by people like D-list Tina?

She didn’t finish her term as guvner because she had to, out of her own pocket, defend herself against scurrilous people digging through her past and coming up with nothing but poor soap and unfounded accusations. It was approaching the millions of dollars when she quit, a sum neither she nor her family could afford, and the state couldn’t by law defend her or pay for her defense. And in such suits, it’s not a “loser pays” situation in Alaska.

And as a final comment, sir, the only reason John-John got as many votes as he did was because of Sarah. Had the Repubs put forth a candidate who believed and lived Republican principles, that candidate would have won. As it was, people like you flocked to the real Democrap because, face it, who wants a Democrap lite?

  22. narciso says:

No it was entirely fictional, based on Wallace and Schmidt’s musings to Halperin, who were gullible or craven enough to believe scenes they couldn’t have actually seen, actions that were counteracted by contemporaneous footage, dissavowals by persons who defended her publically, Moore’s caricature, was not unlikely one of those ‘pod people’ from Body Snatchers, someone totally lacking in looks, humor, temperament, or intelligence,

  23. Kenoshamarge says:

Considering the amount of money this POS made off of making Sarah Palin out to be an idiot her “whine” is pathetic.:((

    Til she dies? Tough crap!

  24. lee Tabin says:

Most liberals ARE low information voters and I have known highly educated people of the left who thought Palin actually said that. But if someone watches MSNBC and reads only and proudly, the NYTimes, what can one expect.

  25. Zippy says:

Hardee Har Harrrrrrrrrr! TS Tina Palin! You made money off it so shut the yapper ..God Bless the guy who shoved it in her face! He’s my new herooooo!

In Tina’s defense, her show “Thirty Rock” is pretty amusing.. but she did the Sarah Palin thing so DEAL WID IT TIL YOU DIE.. HARDEE HAR HARRRRRR!

  26. Edmund says:

heh, good to know! It will not ever happen, but if I were to ever see fay in person, I’ll MAKE SURE to shout out as loud as possible, “Hey Gov. Palin! You’re the GREATEST!!”

  27. Carlos says:

To finish the thought, Edmund, be sure to include “…and nothing like that two-bit hag that used to make fun of you on SNL!”
