Bill Ayers: Weather Underground terrorism, Boston bombings, aren’t remotely comparable

Why? Because one type of terrorism was supposedly the ‘good, patriotic’ kind.  Via Fox News:

Bill Ayers, the 1960s radical who went on to become a college professor and associate of President Obama, said Saturday the bombings he helped the Weather Underground carry out to protest the Vietnam War bear no resemblance to the deadly Boston Marathon attack – and glossed over the fact that his group’s bombs killed three fellow terrorists and have been linked to the murder of a San Francisco police officer.

“How different is the shooting in Connecticut from shooting at a hunting range?” Ayers told a reporter who asked him to compare the incidents after Ayers spoke at a commemoration of the 1970 incident at Kent State University, where Ohio National Guard members killed four students during a protest. “Just because they use the same thing, there’s no relationship at all.”

Ayers went on to accuse Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who spent five years in a POW camp, of murdering civilians in the war, lament the deaths of two fellow Weather Underground members – skipping over the fact that they blew themselves up while trying to make bombs – and painted his actions as a heroic bid to end U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Ayers was the keynote speaker at the event, which drew an estimated 350 people on the university’s Commons, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. But it was after Ayers made his prepared remarks that he bristled over a possible comparison of terrorist acts separated by more than four decades.

“To conflate a group of fundamentalist people [in Boston] who are nihilistic in some way with a group of people who spent their lives trying to oppose the murder of 6,000 people a week … and still the killing went on. And still the killing went on. What would you have done?” Ayers said. “There’s no equivalence [with Boston]. Property damage. That’s what we did.”

Because being an admitted domestic terrorist means never having to say you’re sorry. o=>

If this dimwit is an associate of Obhammud, that tells anyone with half a brain all they need to know about the character of each. A man is known by the company he keeps.

Check the moral calculus here. Ayers defends the use of senseless murder here as justification for a losing effort to stop what he perceives as senseless murder in Vietnam yet refuses to admit there is no difference between that and the senseless murders in Boston. Derangement manifests itself in many ways.

Google “Diana Oughton”. She was Ayers girlfriend who was killed constructing a nail bomb to detonate at an ROTC event to “bring the war home”. No difference indeed.

BTW, what is a “hunting range”? I belong to a shooting or target range.

  2. Carlos says:

Nope, Bill, no comparison. You and your cohorts’ actions were/are more like those of the cowards that blow up women, children and soldiers in Israel, then blame it n Israel itself because they’re hitting back.

All in the name of their god, just like you, but your god is a petty, insolent, and incredibly self-absorbed jerk ponderously creating havoc in the pursuit of power.

Your god is you, Bill, and he’s worth about the same as any other piece of useless garbage that values others as only worth what they can do to bring you power in your petty little universe. That’s also why you were reduced to being a professor – it gave you such power, the only way you would realize it.

It would be sad, but sadness is for humans. More like pity, because one pities animals.

They are absolutely the same… it is just sad that this pos didn’t run himself over with a stolen SUV. – Lorica

This is what you can expect from a sociopathic liar…he has no real defense for his prior actions and wishes to forget that they even happened. He requests that we all just move on and not remember or make any kind of comparison.

I guess his dictionary is different from ours. When I look up the word terrorism…Miriam Webster’s Free on line dictionary used this concise version:

    terrorism noun (Concise Encyclopedia)
Systematic use of violence to create a general climate of fear in a population and thereby to bring about a particular political objective. It has been used throughout history by political organizations of both the left and the right, by nationalist and ethnic groups, and by revolutionaries. Although usually thought of as a means of destabilizing or overthrowing existing political institutions, terror also has been employed by governments against their own people to suppress dissent; examples include the reigns of certain Roman emperors, the French Revolution (see Reign of Terror), Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union under Stalin, and Argentina during the “dirty war” of the 1970s. Terrorism’s impact has been magnified by the deadliness and technological sophistication of modern-day weapons and the capability of the media to disseminate news of such attacks instantaneously throughout the world. The deadliest terrorist attack ever occurred in the United States on Sept. 11, 2001 (see September 11 attacks), when members of al-Qaeda terrorist network hijacked four commercial airplanes and crashed two of them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center complex in New York City and one into the Pentagon building near Washington, D.C.; the fourth plane crashed near Pittsburgh, Pa. The crashes resulted in the collapse of much of the World Trade Center complex, the destruction of part of the southwest side of the Pentagon, and the deaths of some 3,000 people.

Now Bill Ayers may not have been as successful, but he was using instruments of terror against “establishment” targets, i.e. ROTC, police, military. Those appointed by society at large to defend and secure our country! What a moron! He is the worst kind of terrorist…he is using the freedom that this country offers him to coerce and persuade using violence and fear!
