Militant #prochoice liberals stoop to new lows, mock fetus’ humanity as “jerking off”

Just when you thought militant pro-choice liberals couldn’t be any more reprehensible comes a story today on howΒ Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX), a pro-life Republican, described the humanity of an unborn boy in the most delicate way possible, and how childish left wing abortion advocates turned it into something dirty and, quite frankly, beneath the bounds of dignified discussion. First, a recap of the Congressman’s remarks -via Life News:

In one of the more unusual but scientifically accurate defenses of the late-term abortion ban Congress will vote on today, a pro-life Texas congressman pointed out how unborn children masturbate in the womb.

Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX) argued in favor of banning abortions late in pregnancy because he said science the humanity of the unborn child in numerous ways β€” including how babies before birth experience both pleasure and pain.

β€œWatch a sonogram of a 15-week baby, and they have movements that are purposeful,” said Burgess, a former OB/GYN. β€œThey stroke their face. If they’re a male baby, they may have their hand between their legs. If they feel pleasure, why is it so hard to believe that they could feel pain?”

What he’s describing is key, as the bill under discussion earlier today – Β HR 1797, which would ban almost all abortions after 20 weeks, is based on the (“disputed”) science that developing unborn babies at 20 weeks can feel pain which – in a liberal world would mean what was done to it could technically be described as “inhumane” (even though, as I wrote a couple of days ago, pain should not be the precursor to whether or not something should be considered inhumane) and therefore “wrong.” Β Instead of seriously debating the merits of such arguments, some pro-choice Democrats instead took to their blogs and websites to callously use crude terms to describe the activity Burgess was talking about. Β Ann Althouse, who is admittedly pro-choice, posted some of the sick remarks on her blog and in a must-read follow-up slammed all who were using an unborn child who they were perfectly okay with being terminated before birth to score points off of. Β First, the ugly comments:

This is gettingΒ a fair amount of attentionΒ from pro-abortion rights bloggers, and I’d just like to say β€” and note that I support abortion rights β€” that this mockery is very ugly.

ADDED:Β Pharyngula writes, obviously intending humor:

“… I think the good Christians of Texas ought to regard this as an argumentΒ forΒ abortion β€” the sinful little self-polluters must be punished!”

Balloon Juice jokingly detects sexism and instructs readers (“Juicers”) to find the hilarity:

“Just when you thought you’ve heard it all, some dude bro starts talking about male fetuses jerking off, and then your brain starts to cry… I find it very interesting that the concern is only for male fetus pleasure. Because women are just brood mares who can’t feel pleasure. Where’s the love for female fetuses? Damn.

Have fun with this one, Juicers.”

The first commenter says: “‘I fap, therefore I am’? Sounds like a plausible slogan for today’s GOP wankers. Jesus God. Where is that meteor already?”

Althouse’s response (bolded emphasis added by me):

The Congressman described the fetus’s humanity: It does something that we are invited to recognize as part of our shared human condition and therefore to appreciate its reality and to feel empathy.Β

The mockers are taking this delicately stated image of the fetus touching or holding its genitals and turning it into a picture of a baby masturbating β€” “jerking off,” “spanking the monkey” β€” and asking us to laugh at it, even as we are expected to accept its being killed. The very thing that the Congressman used to call us to think of it as human, they would laugh at before killing it.

If you are going to take it into your hands to kill a human being, you don’t diminish it and laugh at it first. For example, an execution β€” assuming it is permitted at all, as it is in the United States β€” is carried out with somber respect. Even as this human being will be killed, we must demonstrate that we understand the profundity of what we are doing.

Picture executions where the condemned person is subjected to mockery first. (That was done to Jesus, by the way.) Some would say any death penalty is wrong, just as some would say that any abortion is wrong. But few would say that ridiculing the condemned being β€” dehumanizing him β€” is acceptable.Β

In their eagerness to deny that the fetus is a person, abortion rights proponents β€” some of them β€” are making sport of it.

Yes. Β And they have absolutely, positively, ZERO shame. Β Nada. Β Bravo to Althouse for calling them out on it.

Oh, and the Stupidity Award of the day goes to all the “feminists” using Burgess’ thoughtful comments as an excuse to whine about how GOP men are supposedly only concerned with “male pleasure” rather than “female pleasure.” Β Thanks, “ladies”, for reducing us down to our lady parts, again.Β Dunces.

And to think these people are supposed to be the “adults in the room”? Β Frightening.

Never overestimate the maturity level of activist pro-aborts:
