Anti- #SB5 HuffPo “feminist” urges “sex strike” for TX women against #prolife men

If I had a dime for every time I’d heard about so-called “feminists” using this modern-day crap tactic against men who “vote against their interests”, I could retire. Β In response to the war over TX pro-life bill SB5, Β feminist Vivian Norris writes at the Huffington PostΒ (bolded emphasis added by me):

“A sex strike, sometimes called a sex boycott, is a strike, a method of non-violent resistance in which one or multiple persons refrain from sex with their partner(s) to achieve certain goals. It is a form of temporary sexual abstinence. Sex strikes have been used to protest many issues, from water resources to employment equity.” (Wikipedia)

In Kenya, when violence broke out after political elections a few years back, the women in Kenya stopped having sex with the men until the violence ended. Guess what? The men quit fighting one another. We’ve all been there, attracted to that man who does not mean well for us. We sure would not want our daughters dating or married to these kinds of guys who think they should decide what is best for women. How perfectly patriarchal, these Texas men trying to not hear what women want have shown themselves to be, but how incredibly out of touch with today’s reality. Women of Texas, it’s going to be a long hot summer — make sure the men who do not deeply respect and support women feel it.

As a native Texan, and someone who has survived 100-plus-degree temperatures for many summers, I can tell you, this summer in Texas is surely going to be hotter than usual. Sultry, sweaty summers can be made much nicer when good old-fashioned sex is part of the picture. But women, take heed: Don’t give in if your man, boyfriend, husband, toyboy is not voting for your best interests, your reproductive health — do not sleep with that man! I don’t care how cute or charming he is! I don’t care if he is your husband of many years. Resist! Go swimming! Meditate!

Do not make him dinner, do not go fetch him a cold beer from the fridge, do not iron that shirt, hell, do not change that diaper… do not make his life a little nicer this summer if he does not “get it” and learn to respect women! Instead, volunteer some time for senators like Wendy Davis, go with a group of women to Austin and make your voices heard. Get on the computer and the social networks and organize.

Remember that you live in a state where it would not be unusual (and I have seen it) to see a bumper sticker on a pickup truck which reads, “My Wife Yes, My Dog Maybe, My Gun Never.” Remember what happened last time when a Texas good ole boy governor took that patriarchy all the way to become President of the United States. Stop the damage now and take back Texas.

And here you thought that feminism meant that women weren’t supposed to objectify themselves by way of using their bodies as sexual weapons against men? Β Oh, wait – you probably also thought it meant that it was a movement designed to have us recognized for our brains and contributions to society instead of us just being judged by our lady parts, right? Β Well, First Wave feminism was like that, anyway, but “modern” or “Second Wave” feminists have turned true, traditional feminism on its earΒ and have changed the rules on us. Β Now, it’s all about viewing women as walking vaginas – we are all the sum total of our lady parts, and if you’re pro-life aka against having little baby parts sucked out of a woman’s body piece by bloody piece, well then you are ANTI-WOMAN, dammit! Β And that doesn’t just go for men, either – yours truly is “anti-woman” even though I AM a woman, simply because I think we as a nation have a moral obligation to protect the most innocent and vulnerable life of all: unborn life.

I’m always amazed at feminists who believe that sex should be given as a “reward” for “good behavior” and “withheld” when disagreement in relationships occur. Why, it’s almost as if these women are ok with objectifying themselves in order to get their significant others to believe a certain way: Β If you do, guys, they’ll submit to you, but if you don’t, forget about it! It’s almost as if these women believe sex is a chore, as a commodity to be bartered based on what you’re willing to give in return. Β You know what they say about that sort of thing on the street, right? Β (snickers)

These sorts of “guycotts” Β also implicitly assume that guys are suck mindless, one-track-minded horndogs Β that they’ll genuinely switch their viewpoints in order to be able to sleep with their significant others again. Β So much for mutual respect of the sexes! But we knew that about modern day feminism, anyway.

Sex is supposed to be something that is mutually pleasurable, based on a combination of physical, emotional, and spiritual (etc) attractions/connections, Β and sex strikes over abortion tell me that the priorities of these advocates are more concerned with the “right” to destroy an unborn life limb from limb than they are with their respective marriages/relationships. Β And that’s really, really sad. Β Almost equally sad is that this woman really believes the “sex strike” in Kenya in 2009 actually got warring factions there to get along. So much fail, so little time to address.

But, hey, as I’ve said before, one good thing to come out of feminists calling for sex strikes is that such campaigns temporarily halt the possibility they’ll reproduce:

How about the more militant β€œsex striker” gals on the left extend the time frame beyond May 5th to, oh, I dunno – indefinitely, no matter whether or not they β€œwin” the manufactured warΒ they started? Β As we all know, abstinence is the most sure fire way of preventing pregnancy, and if these gals don’t reproduce, that means a better likelihood of less liberals inhabiting America some 18-20 years from now. Β By the same token, conservative wives – get busy during this time frame! Because, well, I’m sure you get the point …

Well …? ;)
