This morning’s “head meets wall” moment, courtesy of Ron Fournier

**Posted by Phineas

Fournier isΒ editorial directorΒ for National Journal and, from what I’ve read, somewhat of an Obama fan, like most of the media, albeit a bit disappointed with our Sun King.

Which makes this headline a realΒ “Oh, *now* it occurs to you??”Β moment:

What If Obama Can’t Lead?

It’s a rhetorical set-up for the rest of his article (and do read it; many parts are eyeroll-worthy), but, still…

I bet PJMedia’s Stephen Greene, the Vodkapundit, probably choked back a spit-take with his martini when he read that headline. But, instead of wasting good vodka, he penned a column in which he repeatedly whacks Fournier over the head with a rubber chicken while shoutingΒ “Next time, pay attention!”

Really? Five years in and now he’s asking?

On the right, we were asking in 2007-08 if this community organizing, guest lecturing, junior no-show senator had the executive experience to lead the nation β€” or even just to run the White House.

We asked it again when Obama tapped Joey β€œThe Teeth” McHairplugs for Veep because of his β€œgravitas.”

We asked it again when Obama’s endless speeches failed to move the needle on health insurance reform.

We asked it again when Obama’s signature law, ObamaCare, was cobbled together in backroom deals by Harry Reid and twisted through the House by Nancy Pelosi, and with precious little input from its so-called author.

We asked it after his Cairo speech.

We asked it after Fast & Furious.

And on and on. Be sure to readΒ the rest.

I’m not going to check the archives, but I recall writing many times during the 2008 election cycle about why Obama was not qualified to be president. From his background in Chicago to his ideology and his lack of any experience as an executive. And I was far from alone: David Freddoso, for example, wroteΒ an excellent bookΒ about the case against Obama, detailing his rise from the mire of Chicago politics.Β Stanley KurtzΒ reported on Obama’s love of big government and his racialist views, as well as hisΒ close cooperation with Bill Ayers. All across the Right we were screaming this guy was unfit, yet only now are liberals and the MSM (but I repeat myself) starting to realize we were right?

Ron, baby. Next time, save yourself the embarrassment and listen to us.Β smiley headbang wall
