BROOKLINE β€” Caleb Jacoby, the 16-year-old son of Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby and his wife Laura, has been missing since about 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Jacoby is a Brookline resident who is in the 11th grade at Maimonides School. According to a flier distributed by the Combined Jewish Philanthropies and Maimonides School, he is 5-foot-11 and 140 pounds with a thin build and short, light brown hair.

Brookline police said the teenager was last seen wearing navy chino pants or jeans, a navy polo shirt, a brown winter jacket with a hood, brown shoes or sneakers, and white socks. He frequents public libraries and Young Israel of Brookline on Green Street.

Jacoby’s friends and Jewish communal organizations throughout greater Boston were circulating fliers with Jacoby’s photograph Tuesday.

Efrat Lipschitz, Jacoby’s Hebrew teacher, who is organizing efforts to post fliers, said Jacoby was last seen midday Monday. “We don’t know anything. We don’t have even a clue,” Lipschitz said.
