Obama confused

Thought bubble: ‘Uh, how does the song go again …?’

Some Friday humor for you, via Time Magazine:

During a tribute to Women of Soul at the White House on Thursday, President Barack Obama accidentally misspelled “respect” while introducing the so-called Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.

“When Aretha first told us what… R-S-P-E-C-T meant to her,” Obama said as the audience roared with laughter. He paused briefly before continuing, “She had no idea it would become a rallying cry for African Americans and women and anyone else who felt marginalized because of what they looked like, who they loved. They wanted some respect.”

The Washington Free Beacon YouTube channel has the video clip:

Well, he doesn’t command respect, he certainly doesn’t give it, so it’s not exactly a surprise that he can’t spell it, either. Maybe he’ll figure it all out once he finishes his tour of all 57 states

It was probably misspelled on the teleprompter, so it’s not really his fault. ;)

Gee, what would have happened in the MSM if Bush 43 had made that mistake?

  4. Sefton says:

He was using the Common Core spelling.

Just goes to show that, not only is our Liar-in-Chief intellectually wanting, those he surrounds himself with (in this case, the teleprompter writer) are just as wanting, too.

He needed that grade school carpet he was standing on when he huffed and puffed at Putin. He forgets letters if they’re not right in front of him.
