Couple of comments: 1) It’s no wonder nearly 9 out of ten CITIZENS hate the government, and 2) it’s no wonder the primary source of labor for the feds is the welfare rolls – the welfarers can’t see a whole bunch of difference in their lifestyles before and after employment, but the perks are something not even dreamed of in the private sector (probably because in the private sector a business has to show a profit, but government [all levels] knows the well is bottomless).

This is why Harry Reid refuses to bring anything to a vote in the Senate this year, or even allow preliminary work on a budget. He knows that appropriations cutting IRS, VA, & EPA bonuses and conference/travel budgets would be too popular for his vulnerable caucus to go on record opposing, and Republicans can therefore either pass a CR or be faced with shutting down the 17% of the government that relies upon discretionary appropriations. Shutdowns have always been unpopular with the public, and the GOP always gets the blame.

If we can retake the Senate and present Obama with a budget, as his own popularity dwindles to nothing, perhaps he can be stuck with the blame of vetoes. But there won’t be any real solution until he is gone and replaced by a Republican President.

It is a lead pipe cinch these government minions are going to this “conference” to “party hardy”. The hotel will be a scene of delirium and pandemonium complete with hot and cold running women with each participant hoping they are not taking something home with them.

This also proves what should be well-known: government cannot create wealth but only destroy it.
