#DNC2012 theme turning into a pro-abortion, “GOP supports rape” fest

Paul Bedard at The Washington Examiner reports on how the Democrats, led by left wing shill, notorious lair/race baiter and DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, are fine-tuning the theme of their convention in two weeks into an epic “GOP hates women” marathon:

With an eye on Rep. Todd Akin’s “legitimate rape” comments and the GOP’s mad dash away from the sinking Missouri Senate candidate, the Democrats are turning their upcoming presidential convention into a pro-choice assault on the Republicans with the help of major abortion supporters.

Just as the Akin crisis was reaching a crescendo, the Democrats on Wednesday announced that three starlets of the pro-choice movement will be featured at the convention, an event that will now drive the liberal charge that the Republicans are anti-women.

Democrats said that they will feature Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parent Action Fund, Nancy Keenan, president of the NARAL Pro-Choice America and Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown University student whose plea for federal birth control funding drew the ire–and a subsequent apology–from Rush Limbaugh.

What’s more, the Democrats are expanding their list of women ready to assail the GOP on women’s issue, adding Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski and actress Eva Longoria to the list that already includes Sen. John Kerry and Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren.

I’ve said before how deeply disturbing it is that the so-called “pro-woman” party routinely raises campaign funds off the backs of aborted children – millions of them being girl babies, of course. But it will go beyond disgusting in two weeks as this is their national convention, where the world will be watching, where campaign donations will be flooding into the party like wildfire … and primarily because the desperation of the Democratic party and their sickening demagoguery when it comes to pregnancy, rape, abortion, and other women’s issues they think they have a lock on.

Oh, didn’t ya hear? Because of Todd Akin, the GOP “supports rape.” Β Because the GOP opposes the termination of unborn children, they want to take women “back to the dark ages.” Β And GOP women are “clueless” and “subservient” to “the patriarchy” and have no ambition beyond staying home and being barefoot and pregnant.

SickI predicted the summer/fall campaign season would be particularly vicious, and unfortunately I was correct (it wasn’t a hard prediction to make, either). Β Todd Akin unfortunately gave the Democrats a gift with his “legitimate rape” comments, but the way the left have callously responded in turn tells us a lot more about their character than Akin’s remarks tell us about him. Β  Todd Akin will spend the rest of his life atoning publicly for what he said, trying to make amends. Β Democrats, on the other hand, will not for one second apologize for the decades of blood on their hands, and will keep on keeping on. Β Why? Because”women’s rights” (aka the “right” to an abortion) is the number one issue the left hang their hats on, their cash cow, and they will try to continue to deceive the American public by playing word games — like saying “women’s rights” instead of “abortion” because they know a growing number of people – men and women alike – no longer support the brutal practice of abortion. Β And if there ever comes a time when an overwhelming number of Americans no longer support this abhorrentΒ “legal” procedure, the left will lose and lose big.

So within word games, trickery, and demagoguery on “women’s rights” lay the left’s future – Β a future they stole from over Β 40,000,000 babies who never got a chance to be born and raised and become a productive member of society, because the so-called “party of compassion” found that winning elections was more important than preserving the sanctity and dignity of life for the most vulnerable in our society. Β It’s a heartbreakingly sad yet maddening commentary on the modern-day left, and one anybody who believes social issues need to be moved to the back burner should think long and hard about. Β  Democrats will never stand up for the innocent. Β If we don’t in turn, Β no one will.
