Ya gotta love it. It’s so easy for her to order her troops to march off the cliff, since her seat is one of the safest in the country. She may not be Speaker next year, but she’ll at least still have her job. Unlike the stupid schmucks who obey the Red Queen’s mad commands.

I fear we may be up against it; November is going to be a bloodbath whether they pass this turd or not. Too many of them may realize they’re doomed already anyway. Although, I do still hope it’s only the shrill leftard leadership that’s really willing to go against form.

I wonder if it ever occurred to Pelosi that the reason the Democrats will be sacrificing their jobs voting for healthcare reform is because the vast majority of Americans don’t want THEIR version of healthcare reform? That democracy thingy keeps getting in THEIR way … dang it.

Can she really be as stupid as she always sounds ?

We’ll I guess that as servants of this country all must be willing to the same sacrifice: whether it is Republicans or Democrats. This mission to uplift and provide betterment to the people should always be more than the self.

Pelosi reminds me of someone being asked to strap a bomb to themselves and go into a crowd. She basically is thinking along the same lines. Give your life for my healthcare bill. They are all insane!!

Good analogy, Betty – the “leaders” of any movement, while their employment in “the cause” is safe, are always willing to talk others into dying for “the cause.”

But I haven’t seen Osama strap on a bomb and use it yet. Or Mahmoud. Or any of the other dozens of “leaders” willing to sacrifice those dumb enough to follow to death a “vision.”

Nancy is NOT worried about her future….she has a platinum parachute and will be taken care of at taxpayer expense (with all the perks) since she would have enough tenure in congress to cover her retirement and health without Social Security or Medicare. This is the same for any senior congressman/senator or bureaucrat.

She is pitching a line of bull….that the gullible, like Kristin above, seem to think she will actually be doing something heroic…it is not!

This is all too tawdry…they have puffed up their little egos and now are making it seem like the world will come to an end without their brand of health care reform/public option/single payer, however you name it, the taxpayer and the YOUNG PEOPLE in future generations will pay a high price and make the ultimate sacrifice!

I am so tired of pundits making declarations of what the American people want. We live in a representative democracy. There is a reason for that. People in Washington should know more about issues than we do. We elect them to study & understand these things. If our Congress did what the poles said all the time, we would be in a terrible fix as a Nation.

The argument for Health Care reform should stand on an analysis of the facts around current Health Care and how it effects our future in terms of our morale obligations and our ability to compete in future World markets.

Where is the press in bringing the argument forth? Sad, sad. If the press continues to feed off of sound bits and pundits fighting for a political party, instead of America, we will continue to slip as a Nation.

‘Course, that could be a good thing if she can’t get the votes. Think of all the pork we won’t see as a result.
