I thought she was supposed to be just a dumb chillbilly?

Sarah Palin has posted a response to President Obama’s State of the Union address on her Facebook page. Rather than the vapid ramblings of a baby-making airhead, she demonstrates she has a better idea of what ails the nation and what it needs than the man who made the speech. An excerpt:

Perhaps the most nonsensical bit of double-speak we heard last night was when the President said that hitting job-creators with a tax increase isn’t “punishing their success. It’s about promoting America’s success.” But government taking more money from the small business entrepreneurs who create up to 70% of all jobs in this country is not “promoting America’s success.” It’s a disincentive that will result in less job creation. It is, in fact, punishing the success of the very people who created the innovation that the President has supposedly been praising.

Despite the flowery rhetoric, the President doesn’t seem to understand that individuals make America great, not the federal government. American greatness lies in the courage and hard work of individual innovators and entrepreneurs. America is an exceptional nation in part because we have historically been a country that rewards and affirms individual initiative and offers people the freedom to invest and create as they see fit – not as a government bureaucrat does. Yes, government can play an appropriate role in our free market by ensuring a level playing field to encourage honest competition without picking winners and losers. But by and large, government should get out of the way. Unfortunately, under President Obama’s leadership, government growth is in our way, and his “big government greatness” will not help matters.

Consider what his “big government greatness” really amounts to. It’s basically a corporatist agenda – it’s the collaboration between big government and the big businesses that have powerful friends in D.C. and can afford to hire big lobbyists. This collaboration works in a manner that distorts and corrupts true free market capitalism. This isn’t just old-fashioned big government liberalism; this is crony capitalism on steroids. In the interests of big business, we’re “investing” in technologies and industries that venture capitalists tell us are non-starters, but which will provide lucrative returns for some corporate interests who have major investments in these areas. In the interests of big government, we’re not reducing the size of our bloated government or cutting spending, we’re told the President will freeze it – at unsustainable, historic levels! In practice, this means that public sector employees (big government’s staunchest defenders) may not lose jobs, but millions of Americans in the private sector face lay offs because the ever-expanding government has squeezed out and crippled our economy under the weight of unsustainable debt.

Read the whole thing and just try to square it with the liberal media-political complex’s narrative of a shallow dummy and a bubbleheaded runner-up beauty queen. Her discussion of Obama’s corporatist agenda could have come straight out of Goldberg’s “Liberal Fascism.”

Go, ‘Cuda!

Sarah is spot on, as usual.

Saw an interview with one of the founders of Home Depot who said there is no way they would have been able to start and grow their business in today’s climate. Current reguations and requirements will stifle innovation and keep new business from establishing and growing their company. While large corporations can absorb more red tape because of the scale of their company the regulations continue to pile up. And these large corporations often help write new regs… Crony capitalism is stifling our creative American spirit and continuing to do damage to our economy. It is an unholy alliance between government, bureaucracy and big business while we the taxpayer, small business owners and average Joes get the shaft. Chaps my hide.

Thanks for posting this!I would love it if you added a tweet and facebook button so we can share your posts directly. Or am I missing it? Thank you!

  3. ST says:

Miranda – I was working on trying to add a FB/Twitter link to posts last night, and failed miserably! I’ll keep trying – or get my blog designer to work on it :)

  4. gsr says:

She’s well like by “average” Americans BECAUSE she doesn’t speak like an Ivy League educated, effeminate, ultra pc, wimp lawyer.

  5. Wayne says:

All I can say i toldjah. The Left hate her because she KNOWS what they are doing. She understands the corporatism. She understands that we are seeing a battle of individualism vs collectivism. Ironically the closest thing we have to a collection of like-minded individuals is the Tea Party who distrust collectivism. Palin is in touch and even the conservative pundits have a hard time keeping up.

  6. James says:

All of the above – Go Sarah, and thank you Sister Toldjah for posting this.

  7. ST says:

Thank my co-blogger – he took care of this place today while I was buried under at work :)

And Sarah’s “WTF” take on the President’s speech was priceless.

  9. Pasadena Phil says:

Sarah has a knack for saying things that instantly become part of the national lexicon. This WTF episode will go down as one of the most clever use of rhetoric ever. It’s not that she dares say things that we think where no one else has the courage, it’s that she says things that cut right to core of truth. While everyone else is trying hard to be “polite” and inoffensive while saying as little as possible, Sarah says little but offends by hitting her target dead on.

It’s just like that old saying, “the best defense is a good offense.” A good offense hits its target.

  10. thomas mc donnell says:

i must be as dumb as sarah is. she says exactly what i’m thinking. obama believes what everyone else earns belongs to the politicans. socialists always complain about the concentration of wealth in the hands of the few. but that is exactly the goal of socialism. concentrate ALL the wealth in the hands of the people in government. everywhere this has been tried all it did was take people’s incentive to work away.

  11. Saber says:

Sarah does not suffer from the PC induced socialist gab speak that the GOP Rinos do. She speaks truth, and it grates upon their ears, this woman knows blood sport and she will not let them take her down.

  12. ShyAsrai says:

they’re so angry because she’s one great big example of exactly the opposite the Left has been telling us for 50 years…..

…that if you don’t have abortions, you can accomplish NOTHING, and only NOTHING.

it’s really chapping their arses, and that kind of makes me smile.

  13. Maxie says:

And Sarah Palin speaks with passion and conviction! It is something lacking in most of the other Republican 2012 presidential contenders except for DeMint, Pence and Christie. I am not sure if any of those guys will be running for president though.

Oh, how I yearn for a president who speaks truth with passion and conviction!

  14. Army Mom says:

I saw a commenter on another blog that said that Sarah is our Joan of Arc. I have to agree. Fight on Sarah!!

There are those of us who understand her and there are those who are afraid of her. Which are you?

  15. Brenda says:

The Left & the Republican Establishment are terrified of Sarah Palin because she tells the truth. She has a steel spine and has said she is not going to shut up. By the way, we don’t need a “Freeze” on spending, we need to CUT spending back to 2007 levels!!!!!Thanks for the post.

  16. Bill589 says:

The founders believed we needed a ‘free press’. Now, I don’t know if we can ever get a real fair and balanced press where we would learn the truth, and then the differing opinions about it.
But Sarah mentions this problem often, and if anybody can lead us to fix our press, I think she can. She’s not afraid of the press, and that’s one of the big differences between her and most others.

She can play her enemies in the press like a fiddle Stradivarius.

  17. Kate says:

I hear ya Maxie…dump the teleprompter prez.

The outright hatred of Sarah Palin by the left is a good indicator that she is on the right track. (no pun intended) The worst fear of the progressives is that they will be “found out”. Alinksy was very careful about masquerading the socialist agenda until it became impossible to do so. I think we are at that tipping point right now and Sarah is stating the obvious and people in general, like the Tea Party, have come to understand that now action is required.

This was a very clear statement by Sarah to help those who still have questions…I don’t think she is preaching to the choir here. I am hoping more people step into the light!

  18. Iconoclast says:

Pay attention, liberals. This is what “speaking truth to power” really looks like!

Everything she said was dead-on. Everything.
