I’ve never believed the “Obama is a secret Muslim” nonsense, but…

He is either appallingly naive about the religion or is doing his usual “say anything they need to hear to like me” act. Regardless, the kind of meaningless pabulum he served at the White House Iftar dinner last night is just jaw-dropping:

Welcoming guests at the annual White House Iftaar party, US President Barack Obama said, Islam has always been part of the American family and Muslim Americans have long contributed to the strength and character of our country in all walks of life.

Attended by some 100 special invited guests including ambassadors of mostly Muslim countries and eminent Muslim academicians and community leaders, Akram Syed of the National Association of Indian Muslims was among the few Indian-Americans to attend the high-profile annual event at the White House.

Other special guests included families of Muslim victims of the 9/11 attacks, as well as Muslim members of the US Armed Services.

Obama said the annual Ramadan dinner, a tradition that President Clinton began and President George W Bush continued, is quintessentially American.

“No matter who we are or how we pray, we’re all children of a loving God,” he said.

Tell that to the Copts in Egypt, Mr. President. And that’s just one example of the nearly 1,400-year legacy of Islam’s jihad against everyone else.

That quote is just the start. For more, and for a detailed deconstruction of the President’s blather, visit Jihad Watch.

PS: To clarify, I am not questioning the loyalty of Americans who practice Islam but who don’t seek to impose Sharia law here or wage jihad against the United States, and I especially do not question the loyalty and honor of the many Muslims who have served and do serve in the military. It is with Islam itself and its doctrines of (to name a few) jihad, Jew-hatred, female inferiority, enmity toward the outsider, and the supremacy of Sharia that I have deep problems.

PPS: Regarding Obama’s religious beliefs, if he has any, in my opinion he is most attracted to the Black Liberation Theology preached by James Cone, Cornel West, and Jeremiah Wright. (Although I’m not above believing that his time in Wright’s church was wholly cynical, and that Obama’s only real “religion” is himself.)

  1. Islam has not always been a part of the American family. Christianity has. Islam is a totalitarian ideology. Muslims seeking a truly religious experience should give it up and convert to Christianity for Ramadan.

  2. WarEagle says:

Well, the Muslims of North Africa were instrumental in helping President Jefferson understand the need for an effective navy early in our nation’s history. You just can’t argue with facts…

  3. Papa Whiskey says:

At the dinner, Barry Hussein served up this particularly nauseating gobbet:

“Obama called for … ‘An America where we treat one another with respect and with dignity, remembering that here in the United States there is no ‘them’ or ‘us;’ it’s just us.’ ”

It would seem that he has never heard the words of OIC General Secretary Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, who in a speech to a gaggle of politely nodding academics at Columbia University on Sept. 18, 2008, frankly stated that

“The Muslim Ummah means the ‘community of the faithful’. It is a unique bond that has no similar example under any other political or religious system in the world. It is a belonging to ideals which bring Muslims together in an eternal brotherhood lock which transcends all other consideration of allegiance or loyalties or barriers of nationhood, ethnicity, geography or language.”

So much for” no ‘them’ or ‘us’,” eh?

  4. Mark says:

if he isn’t a Muslim, then why did he ignore Easter, but make such a big deal out of a Muslim holiday – he is way more pro-Muslim than pro-Christian

  5. biken guy says:

he is a muslim. in islam you are the religion of your father when born. his was muslim. no baptism papers or anything to prove converting. his actions speak louder than words and clearly indicate which he favors.

  6. DaveO says:

Which Christian holidays, or holy days, has our President celebrated/observed since after the 2008 election?

  7. Luke says:

If I had to bet when he is defeated in Nov. 2012 and after he is out of the white house in Jan. 2013, then and only then will we really know what religious philosophy he believes in. That is my take for now.

  8. PE says:

Rational players have difficulty comprehending the mind of a psychopath. AND his message to the muslim celebrants: just you and me, right?

  9. DemNoMore says:

He is neither Muslim nor Christian — he only worships himself. However, he is always ready to profess admiration for or the practice of other religions if he believes he can gain some advantage by doing so.

  10. tnxplant says:

Hmm – as a Christian, I believe we are all created by God, but we don’t become His children until we are adopted in through faith in Jesus Christ.

  11. Carlos says:

Although the original colonists would have absolutely nothing to do with “Mohammedans,” they were certainly an important part of our early history.

Why, if it hadn’t have been for them, we would never had the slaves we did that brought our nation eventually to a civil war!

And they were effective in causing Jefferson to implement an effective navy, as noted by WarEagle.

The slavery thing is especially notable because they still believe in slavery, and sharia law advances the way slaves are to be taken and treated.

Sometimes we simply interpret issues/religion the way we want to see them. For example, what does Jihad mean? Its a ‘struggle’ and that means struggling to educate oneself! Another thing that we do not know about Islam is that God instructed Muslims to only attack/wage war on others IF the enemy attacks first.
Female-inferiority? Islam believes that men cannot stop ogling at females because females are the most beautiful creatures tat God made and thus it is required for them to cover their heads. Covering face is not part of Islam.
During the time of the Last Prophet, Muslims and Jews lived in peace. Hatred is NOT part of Islam.

Please do your homework before stating twisted facts. But yes everyone is entitled to their own opinion and so are you.

  13. Skip says:

Has Barack Hussein Obama ever said “Christianity has always been part of our American family?”

Al123 wrote: “Female-inferiority? Islam believes that men cannot stop ogling at females because females are the most beautiful creatures tat God made and thus it is required for them to cover their heads. Covering face is not part of Islam.”

My answer: If muslim men are so weak, why don’t they wear blindfolds? Why must women bear the burden of anonymous rage cages when it would be so much more to the point and place responsibility where it belongs to bind the eyes of men except when they are safe at home among female relatives who will protect them from running into any temptations.

Blindfolded muslim men would solve so many problems! Maybe you could take this idea back as part of your homework to your muslim buddies. We’ll see if this rational and effective idea catches on!

  15. MrPete says:

Islam’s Allah is not a loving God. Never has been. The idea that God loves us is Judeo-Christian, not Islamic.

Mohammed was an orphan. Is it any wonder that he missed the Father heart of God?

  16. Al123 says:

    Anonna,

Muslim men are asked “to Lower their gaze” when they see a women so yes they are NOT supposed to stare :)
Besides that certainly does not mean that women have to stay at home and cannot go out on their own. Again you do not know the complete facts about Islam. What you know is what Saudi Arabia follows. Islam is more than that. Learn your facts.

MrPete, what makes you say that? Have you read in the Holy Quran that Allah is not loving?

  17. Phineas says:

    Al123,

Thanks for leaving comments, and I apologize for having offended you. But I do not apologize, regret, or renounce any of my opinions of Islam. It is an aggressive, supremacist, misogynistic religion, the overriding imperative of which is to impose Sharia on the whole world, as per the Qur’an and the hadiths.

For example, what does Jihad mean? Its a ‘struggle’ and that means struggling to educate oneself!

Really? That’s your opinion? Then you go against not only the Qur’an and the hadiths, but also noted Islamic scholars from the earliest days to the present, including the doctors of Islamic Law at al-Azhar, the recognized authority in the Sunni world. Jihad is war, plain and simple. Anything else is innovation.

Another thing that we do not know about Islam is that God instructed Muslims to only attack/wage war on others IF the enemy attacks first.

That would be defensive jihad, and I’ll tell you right now that Muslims have a very loose definition of “defensive.” And what about the conquests of North Africa, Persia, and portions of Europe, including Spain? Those were “defensive?” September 11th was defensive? Bali, London, Madrid, and Beslan were defensive? Don’t make me laugh.

Female-inferiority? Islam believes that men cannot stop ogling at females because females are the most beautiful creatures tat God made and thus it is required for them to cover their heads. Covering face is not part of Islam.

Thank you for making my point for me: Islam reduces men to animals who cannot control themselves. (For a modern example, see the “cat meat” imam in Australia.) The woman is made responsible for the man’s sexual behavior.

And if women are not inferior in Islam, why is their testimony worth only half that of a man’s under Sharia, which is Allah’s law? Why does a woman inherit only half what a man does? And what about the “temporary wives” under Shiite Islam? I could go on and on.

During the time of the Last Prophet, Muslims and Jews lived in peace. Hatred is NOT part of Islam.

Try telling that to the Jews of Khaybar, who were attacked and conquered by an army lead by Muhammad. That would be the “prophet” who tortured one of their leaders to death and who then took that man’s wife for his own, raping her that night. All this is in the biography of Muhammad written by ibn Ishaq, the oldest canonical biography of the “last prophet.”

The Qur’an is replete with Jew-hatred. Here’s just one example:

“O you who believe! do not take the Jews and Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.” –Qur’an 5:51

There are lots, lots more. And that’s not even considering the hadiths or the learned commentaries by Islamic scholars.

Please do your homework before stating twisted facts.

Thanks for your concern, but I have. I’ve read the Qur’an and the aforementioned biography. On my bookshelf sits the Umdat al-Salik, an authoritative manual of the Shafi’i school of Islamic law, authorized by al-Azhar itself. I’d love to have a complete collection of the most reliable hadiths, such as the Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, but those are a bit expensive. Someday, perhaps.

But yes everyone is entitled to their own opinion and so are you.

And at last we agree. However, my opinion of Islam is unchanged.

  18. jann says:

All this defense of Islam. Until they quit killing people and filling their kids with hatred, oh and the pedophilia crap that goes on and putting potato sacks over their womens heads, screw you. What I see are slaughtered Christians and the threats against Jews is non stop. So until I hear a Muslim stand up and scream it off the rooftops that it’s wrong and America/FREEDOM is the best place in the world and they will die to protect it like we will, not believing it and don’t start quoting verses from the Qur’an that don’t line up with what we SEE!

  19. Ben says:

    I’d say he worships himself.

  20. Punditarian says:

Barack Hussein Soetoro Obama may not be a professing Muslim, but his early childhood years were spent in a Muslim country, and he seems always to have been aware that his father was a Muslim.

Take a look at the expression on his face, and listen to the inflection in his voice, when he talks about Islam and Muslim countries.

It is evident that he has a deep and abiding love for the Islamic world. It comes through every time he talks about it.

Contrast that with the expression on his face and the inflection in his voice when he talks about his own country.

He is fond of the Ummah, and in his heart, he despises America. He is contemptuous of America’s history, seeing us through the eyes of the hard left, and he is contemptuous of ordinary Americans.

Of course, according to Shariah Law, the President, as the son of a Muslim, is a Muslim, and that’s all there is to it.

  21. Helene says:

Obama’s right. At least two signers of the Declaration of Independence were Muslims.

Not sure which ones, but the teleprompter will tell us. Just wait a while.

  22. Kate says:

I have a Christian friend who is married to an Egyptian muslim who actually allows her to be herself and runs a business. THey have two children who are free from Islam because he gave them a choice. This is an example of a secular Muslim. There are many like him in this country today. They embrace the American way to make money. They cling to their religion more like a social club…like many Americans who consider themselves Christians, but don’t know Jesus. So, this is probably how our president was raised.

When Ramadan rolls around it is more like a time to get together early each day for breakfast….then they fast all day and have a corporate meal in the evening. At the end of the month each wife gets a great gift, usually a nice expensive piece of jewelry. My friend goes along for these meals and enjoys their company and is actually allowed to express her feelings that they are being a bit hypocritical about the whole season.

Such is life forthe mainstream American Muslim. Perhaps, this is why the president can soft petal the whole of the relgion.

    Well done, Phineas!!

  24. Zippy says:

    Phineas, that was most excellent!

  25. Carlos says:

And kudos from me also, Phineas, well, well said.

With believers like him still voting, I fear for the results of next year’s elections.

  26. bill glass says:

Progressive, Harvard boys like Barry are probably mostly agnostic. His advisors – esp. Plouffe and Jarrett – are plenty smart enough to fake the religiosity. Heck, he’ll be carrying a Bible like slick Willie…if he isn’t already.

  27. 2/ 325th AIR says:

No matter who we are or how we pray, we’re all children of a loving God,”

I wont even attempt to speak for or on anyone elses choice of faiths, but I will say this…my God doesnt require I kill, main, explode, or shoot anyone who disagrees with my faith, my God doesnt require I had my prepubescent daughters over to an ‘adult’ ‘male’ to be a plaything for his ego, my God also doesnt condone to sexual mutilation of my female children to make these same ‘males’ feel better about lack of abilities, nor does my God demand any female keep herself covered and go out of her way to hide the beauty that is female (most, anyway!) ,…so…if, as you state, Barry, we’re all of the same God…why isnt theyre god practicing what he preaches?

  28. George Robinson says:

This addresses one of my major “Peeves”. A muslim here, a muslim there, out of hundreds of millions and we have an extended Islam history. Next California, a gay here, a gay there, probably some guys accused who never were, now we have to teach gay history. I certainly relish seeing all the lawsuits emanating from gay muslim history, or non gay —- or non communist muslim— oh well. Nobody better add that we have all three represented—–

  29. Marshall Art says:

I’m pretty sure Obama neglected the National Day of Prayer.

As a clarification, I would just like to say that MY God, the One True God of the Bible who sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die for our sins and thus provide us our means to salvation…THAT God…prefers that our women (and men, too, BTW) dress in a modest fashion so as not to arouse. This is not the same as hiding one’s beauty, but some of that beauty need indeed be covered up.

    Just sayin’…

  30. Re the “we’re all children of a loving God”

    James 1:12 says

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”

In other words, only those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior are children of God. Read the entire section if you want to check the context, but you’ll find it doesn’t change anything.

That Obama is ignorant of the bible is not surprising considering where he went to church.
