Popcorn!! AG Holder to testify on “Fast and Furious”

Under oath, baby, under oath:

CBS News has learned Attorney General Eric Holder has agreed to appear before the House Judiciary Committee regarding “Fast and Furious.” The hearing will take place Dec. 8th.

Judiciary Committee member and head of the House Oversight Committee Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) had requested that Holder appear, in part to dig deeper into when-he-knew-what about ATF’s so-called “gunwalking” operation Fast and Furious.

In May, Holder testified that he only first heard about Fast and Furious a few weeks before. However, as CBS News reported, documents and memos indicate he had been sent multiple briefings mentioning Fast and Furious in 2010.

Holder later explained in a letter to Congress that he didn’t read those memos, and that in any event, nobody at the Justice Department who knew of Fast and Furious was aware of the specific “gunwalking” tactics used.

Could this be the moment Holder falls on his sword for Obama?

CBS’ Sharyl Attkisson (aka, She Who Was Screamed At) also reports that Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) wants a public hearing with former ATF Director Ken Melson. Melson, you may recall, rejected the presence of DoJ “minders” and testified before the committee last July without telling his bosses, bringing his own lawyer and and directly tying top subordinates of Eric Holder to Operation Fast and Furious. My guess is that Cummings wants Democrats to be seen as pro-active on this in order to give his caucus some distance from a scandal that could (should) threaten Obama’s reelection.

Or he wants to play attack dog. Could be either.

Regardless, the real show will be before the House Judiciary Committee when Eric Holder raises his right hand and starts answering or dodging pointed questions about what he knew, when he knew it, who developed this felony stupid plan, and who approved it.

Can’t wait.

Assuming arguendo that the foregoing is true, then Holder should resign in disgrace for incompetence and neglect of his oath of office. What a turd! Even Janet Reno wasn’t that pathetic.

  2. Carlos says:

If embarrassment was the standard, this entire administration would have resigned before the inauguration. That they have absolutely no shame whatsoever should speak volumes about their ability (as individuals and as a group) to lie.

I don’t anticipate much in the way of a show. Not being a lawyer, better yet, not being a Senator, I was able to see the obvious evil in what Holder did to enable Clinton’s parting atrocities as a portent of future, bad, behavior. That porten has been manifest as reality ever since.

Also, Holder’s letter to Congress is really a preview of coming attractions. I’m reminded of a famous defense lawyer who described the basis of his successes this way: “Say you claim that my dog bit you. I say: you weren’t bit, you weren’t bit by a dog, It wasn’t my dog that bit you, I don’t own a dog.”

What I expect from this congressional hearing is an audio visual representation of “The dogs bark. The Caravan moves on.”

This was more than a felony stupid plan and should result in not just a problem for Obama’s reelection, but it should result in the loss of Holders and Obamas freedom. Two US law enforcement officers have been killed and untold hundreds of Mexican and American citizens have been murdered and there will surely be hundreds or thousands more. This should be considered not just felony stupid, but felony evil, it was implemented to attack our 2nd amendment and the numer of casualties was irrelevant to these evil people. To them the end justifies the means, and they are all about taking away our freedoms. They are evil, period.

I cam SMELL it. The stench is getting worse. We have been lied to and taken advantage of for years. DC is still trying to sell a dream that is a nightmare, unless of course you have the big donation then you get to ride the train. All others walk or crawl we really don’t give a damn.

Cummings is just the attack dog for the Obama Admin. He’ll go after Melson and try and discredit his testimony. Cummings is nothing more than a political hack who screws his constituents every day just to stay in office.

  7. Carlos says:

“Cummings is nothing more than a political hack who screws his constituents every day just to stay because he is in office.”

There, Mike, now it rings truer. But the same can be said of at least 90% of our congresscritters.

Too bad the politicians are in charge of making the rules. It would be a lot easier to get rid of the Cummingses if there were term limits.
