Oh my God! Hybrid sharks! The horror! Oh wait! They adapted! Does that mean sharks aren’t going to become extinct because of “global warming”? This is not what “global warming” alarmists predicted. They predicted mass extinction of species if we didn’t stop using all petroleum products immediately.

I mean, the alarmist used recent droughts as proof that “global warming” was here and destroying the Earth. Using the “global warming” alarmists own methods of reasoning, we can only conclude that hybrid sharks are proof positive that “global warming” will not result in mass extinctions.

Of course, the discovery proves the *opposite* of their contention. The warm-water shark is moving into cold water. In order for their claim to hold merit, the cold-water shark would have to be hybridizing to survive in warmer waters. The warm water shark is *already* equipped to survive in hotter ocean water.

Aside from the hysterical apocalyptic warnings from the ~~global warming~~ climate change crowd, the evolution-is-everything crowd is having an orgasm over this “evolution in action” that HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN!. No it’s not, it’s a routine example of cross-breeding, only differing from cross breeding of plants by the animal form involved.

This is less exciting than learning a Great Dane and an Irish Wolfhound had mated and had pups.

When I was in college, part of defining two animals as different species was that they could not produce offspring. The correct part of this news is that a “hybrid” has been seen. A mule is a hybrid – NOT an evolutionary step.
