I don’t know how anyone can even think the government’s aspiration and outcomes are ever consist! This proves the point. You all know the quaint expression: The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Well, here’s an example of how a socialized medical system breaks down over time…leading to the exact problem that they aspired to avoid!

We have Medicare in this country that aspires to help the elderly get adequate medical care. I have seen more nursing and convalescent homes that do not take Medicare now. Why? Because the payments are inadequate. Few facilities, creates greater need or over populated facilities where care is spread thin.

My mom, at 84, has a hormone imbalance caused by thyroid and parathyroid glands. It IS affecting her daily life.

Her geriatric specialist doc said, when I questioned why nothing was being done, “oh, we just don’t get aggressive with treatment at this age…”

It’s already here.

Just like they have with Medicare/Medicaid. And we all know what a well-oiled bureaucracy those are…

Yes, the road to hell WAS paved with good intentions. Now we’ll have to see if we can unpave this administration and get back on, if not the straight and narrow, at least a somewhat narrower road that takes us back to the cliff Obhammud has driven us over.

As Marilyn alluded to, the “Complete Lives System” of Obama and his advisors means elderly care is a non-starter.

Heck, if I was one of the Gen-X “Gimme” generation I wouldn’t want to pay for my generation, either, not after getting the totally screwed-up mess my generation has left them as a legacy to “feel-good” politics, education, liberalism, etc.

Notice how nearly daily we hear more about how unreasonable it is for the younger ones to foot the bill for we that have already passed our prime income (read: taxpaying) years. Death panels, ya better gear up. We old coots are on our way!

If Obamacare stays in place the motivation for doctors to excel will disappear. Every physician will be paid for services based on a payment schedule. No matter what motivations that a young doctor may have the sad reality of all socialized medical systems will it them…. The doctor that performs the best gets paid and treated the same as the doctor that barely meets minimum requirements. Welcome to the glorious people’s revolution comrades.

Well at least med schools aren’t typically hot beds for progressive / feminist / > insert code word < "justice" agitators. There simply isn't time for it. The educational system was deliberately targeted by the Progs to create schools that make children as different from their parents as possible (paraphrasing Woodrow Wilson). At least teachers will be able to change the places that they teach in order to escape low wages. If Obamacare is enacted the salaries for doctors will be the same everywhere. I'm sure that there will still be motivated doctors, just far fewer of them without the free market.
