I do, too – he tells it like it is, no holds barred. I wish more of our elected representatives were this open and honest!

I loved his speech yesterday !!

    From RollCall:

In the midst of a fiery floor debate over contempt proceedings for Attorney General Eric Holder, House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) quietly dropped a bombshell letter into the Congressional Record.

The May 24 letter to Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), ranking member on the panel, quotes from and describes in detail a secret wiretap application that has become a point of debate in the GOP’s “Fast and Furious” gun-walking probe.

The wiretap applications are under court seal, and releasing such information to the public would ordinarily be illegal. But Issa appears to be protected by the Speech or Debate Clause in the Constitution, which offers immunity for Congressional speech, especially on a chamber’s floor.

    From the Congressional Record:

From the beginning, ATF was transparent about its strategy. An internal ATF briefing paper used in preparation for the OCDETF application process explained as much:

Currently our strategy is to allow the transfer of firearms to continue to take place, albeit at a much slower pace, in order to further the investigation and allow for the identification of co-conspirators who would continue to operate and illegally traffic firearms to Mexican DTOs which are perpetrating armed violence along the Southwest Border.

  3. Drew the Infidel says:

If Holder and Obhammud seriously want to ID “co-conspirators who would continue to operate and illegally traffic firearms to Mexican DTOs which [sic] are perpetuating armed violence” then here is a “lead”, in law enforcement parlance: Go look in the mirror! (Should have read “who”.)

There is a historical quote which fuels my distrust and it is from Richard Nixon in the midst of the Watergate scandal and cover-up, “I’m not a crook.” ‘Nuff said.

So do I. Plain speaking, right to the point, and as Chelie says, no holds barred. It’s refreshing to see someone like this is the world of double-speak that DC has become.

It’s nice to finally see someone in D.C. whose outrage is real, as opposed to the faux rage of such as Pelousy, Maxine and DWS.

    #winning.

  8. SweeperGuy says:

Pat Tillman was killed by friendly fire from American weapons and American authorities at the highest level tried to cover up the facts to avoid embarrassment. The outrage was loud, righteous and justified. Brian Terry was killed by enemies of America with American weapons provided by the highest American; strike that, administration authorities. Not surprised by the hypocrisy but I am sickened by it. I’ve really had enough.
