You know, in listening to Rev. Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream’ speech a few times over the last few days, I think he would be terribly disappointed in the black community he was fighting so hard to get equally with the white community. The people living in the MLK days were unbelievably brave – risking everything for what they knew was right… Equality for every citizen everywhere!! The black ‘leaders’ these days seem to be the instigators, the rabble rousers, those who choose to incite distrust and a ‘poor me’ attitude in their followers. I’m with Rev. King… I don’t think blacks are ‘lesser’ citizens… I don’t think they lack intelligence or common sense. I just think they have been blindly following the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc, and many have gotten comfortable living in an entitlement society… They would be much better off emulating someone like Ben Carson, whose values and view of the world is much more equal, fair, and responsible than the others.

Dear Rev. Jackson: The attack on Fort Sumter was ordered by Democrats, who were the ones who chose to succeed from the Union. Since you seemed to have missed that bit of history, let me remind you: the Democrats passed the Jim Crow laws; the Democrats organized the KKK, the Knights and the other illegal paramilitary groups to attacked and killed thousands of black men, women and children from 1870 to 1950; the Democrats are the party who kept blacks from voting until the passage of the Voting Rights Act. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. Most of the 400,000 white men who died in the Civil War to free the slaves were Republicans. Try again with more historical accuracy, please.

Does anyone remember why MLK was in Memphis when he was assassinated? It was to mediate the strike between the garbage workers union and the city. His philosophy was that all honest labor is honorable and has merit. This must be Jackson’s “point of departure” because he has never been near the scene of work ever since, only controversy.

The “reverend’s” worst nightmare is racial harmony, because that would connote an end to his fabulous income.

And we couldn’t have such an honest, dignified and worthy person be poor now, could we?

With two Cracker Jack boxtops and two bits I could become a better “reverend” than he. At least I know the Bible says lying is not acceptable, and rails against those who cause strife among the brethren.
