Remember this photo from this weekend’s ‘anti-war’ protests in San Francisco? In case the link changes, the photo is of a man standing in the crowd carying a red, white, and blue sign that reads "I’m a Republican and I’m ASHAMED of this GOP!" The caption reads:

Jeb Eddy joins an estimated 15,000 demonstrators to protest the war in Iraq on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, in San Francisco. (AP Photo/Noah Berger)

One small problemo: Jeb Eddy is not a Republican. He’s a Democrat. Kevin at Wizbang has the 411 on this guy’s Democrat credentials.

Now, pass along some cyber-Kleenex tissues for the media outlets and Dems out there (but I repeat myself) who were hoping against hope that this guy really was a disgruntled Republican. I could just see the Huffington Post reserving a section solely for him.

  1. Republican is as Republican does.

As I try to get back to my daily routine, now that Rita’s effects allow me resume travel get back to some sort of routine, I stopped by Blogs for Bush and Wizbang and noted a story about an “ashamed Republican” protesting at a rally this past weeken…

  1. We used to deal with that periodically at the NRA, during the Clinton Gun Ban and other debates. For a few bucks, a gun CONtrol advocate becomes a member, then protests, generally to the press, about the Association not representing his or her views. (And how did the MSM stumble on this lone dissenting member out of millions of members? Why, it was a set-up.)

Sham scam. It’s a dumb, old tactic — and thanks to those who debunked it!

  3. Unfortunately the MSM publishes this stuff because they really want to believe their prejudices are true. Dan Rather and his lie about the President being AWOL from the National Guard is another example of the MSM printing their prejudices with no proof.

This just reinforce my prejudice that Liberals are cheating liars and are never to be trusted to tell the truth.

  5. Sort of like Michael Moore claiming not to be a Democrat but an Independent… and being registered as a Democrat.

    In two states.

  6. Thomas: Welcome to the ST blog and thanks for posting! No doubt the MSM was very happy to run with that picture.

Fat Tone: It’s true, it’s true! BTW, I’d like to welcome you to the ST blog as well. Some cool newbies joining in lately :)

Steve: We can always tell when Mike Moore is lying. When his lips are moving
