Leave Judge Alito’s 90 year old mother alone!
The DRUDGE REPORT has learned from exclusive sources that Supreme Court nominee Samuel A. Alito Jr.’s 90 year-old mother Rose has become a prisoner in her own Hamilton, NJ home because of a barrage of media requests.
The quiet neighborhood Mrs. Alito has lived in for over 50 years has been turned upside down all week by a swarm of national reporters who have phoned and shown up at the doorstep of not only her but many of her neighbors.
In the last 24 hours alone, she and her neighbors have been contacted by national reporters from NEWSWEEK, CBS’ “EARLY SHOW” THE BOSTON GLOBE and THE ASSOCIATED PRESS.
Outside of a trip to a local pizzeria and quick junket to her son’s home an hour and a half away, Rose Alito has been stuck inside all week.
One neighbor, who asked the DRUDGE REPORT to withhold their name so the press wouldn’t call them at home, was stunned at the treatment the 90 year-old grandmother had received. “Mama Alito is just a sweet lady and we don’t understand why she is being hounded by these reporters. She can’t even go outside and tend to her fall flowers. She’s just a proud mother, what do they want?”
The man has written over 300 legal opinions – review them … and leave his mother out of it. Sheesh!

Sister Toldja You are so cruel. You actually want these reporters to wade through all that reading when it would be so much easier for them to trip up a 92-year-old lady in an interview and come up with a sensational quote damaging to her son.

Hey, let’s be fair here. I think we all remember how Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s mother was harassed and stalked by the VRWC when she was nominated. Oh, wait, you don’t remember? Oh yeah..
I think we all should start demanding that a law be passed where the MSM prints or broadcasts false or misleading stories can be sued to force corrections that are just a prominent as the original story, be fined, and even forced to have an ombudsman not of their choosing be force upon them.
I don’t want to tie up the courts with frivolous suits, but think of the MSM being forced to not print the moonbat version of “Bush Lied” or having to admit their anonymous sources were made up because the reporter couldn’t find anyone who would mouth the words the reporter wanted to print without evidence?
Just playing devil’s advocate here, but why did Rose Alito comment to reporters outside her home, and has she actually asked these reporters to leave her alone? We all know there are some unscrupulous “reporters” out there who will stop at nothing to get their story/photo (Princess Di, Lindsay Lohan car crashes caused by paparazzi), but if you suddenly become famous in this country, Good Morning America calling you for an interview isn’t harrassment. Where does a 90 year old owman need to go everyday anyway. Maybe she stays home all the time because she wants to.
Do you think it’s possible there’s a media swarm around her home that might make it difficult for her to be able to walk out her front door to do something as innocent as smelling the flowers, Elendril?
