Just checking in for a quick hello – hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! Mine was great … can’t believe it’s already over, though.
Got some after-TGiving sales I want to try and catch Friday morning, but wanted to let ya’ll know I’ll be back to blogging either late Friday afternoon or early evening.

Don’t know how Walmart does it… but they have an HP laptop that is advertised on HP’s website for $680 for $398. Comparable laptops at Compusa are $699.
I’ll be picking one up. I’m sure it’ll be a mad house. It’s only there from 5AM (yes 5!) till I think 10AM. I’ll be there at 5AM.
And do you know what’s funny? Learning Express sent me a thing in the mail for 25% off from 6-9AM tomorrow. I knew what I wanted so I asked the lady there if I could buy it now so that nobody else took it and then get my 25% off by returning it and then purchasing it between 6-9 tomorrow. She said yes! It’s a pottery wheel kit for kids. Aren’t low prices great?!

No I didn’t. I just purchase one online this morning though.
I was at the computer area at Walmart at exactly 5:02 and the made the announcement that the laptops were sold out. I didn’t wait in line. I showed up at 5:01 and there was no line. I went through the garden area entrance.
So… instead of spending $398 for a brand new laptop… I got a used one online for $519 that has a bigger screen, bigger hard drive, but no wireless card built in, but has Windows XP Pro versus XP Home. It’s also slightly slower than the new one but that’s ok as it has what I wanted which was CD Writer and DVD drive. It’s a Dell Precision M40 which was originally sold in early 2002 as a $3,000 system (because it had a 1600×1200 display probably)

Sounds like WalMart only had 1 or 2 at that price. I’d have a talk with the manager about that. Your state AG is probably as litigious as Iowa’s. Therefore the WM manager may do something to make you happy and not get WM into another lawsuit.
That’s ok. I knew it was too good to be true at that price…
