Palestinian Islamic Jihad supporter and former University of South Florida computer science professor Sami Al-Arian was acquitted today on eight terror-related charges. The jury deadlocked on some other charges, but it remains to be seen whether or not they will be retried.
Debbie Schlussel argues that Al-Arian was acquitted thanks to incompetent Assistant U.S. Attorneys. I think she’s right. Read my post on Al-Arian here (the newslink included is especially telling) to see just why I (and many others) believe that the terrorist-supporting Al-Arian, who will soon be free to walk the streets of the US very soon, should not be set free.
