Hey Sister, i’m afraid it’s only a matter of time before the “usual suspects” you mention start questioning the marshal’s judgement. That’s standard operating procedure:
Re-evaluate the actions and decisions a single person had to make in seconds under enormously stressful circumstances where hundreds of lives are potentially at stake.
When possible, do so in as condescending a manner from cushy TV studios hundreds or thousands of miles removed from the incident itself.
The air marshal did his job, and I’m sure he feels terrible that he had to take a life in doing so. I sincerely hope that the armchair quarterbacking is kept to a minimum, but based on past behavior of some of the clowns littering cable news channels, I have low expectations.
Great post, Alex! I’m bracing myself for the tidal wave of criticisms from the usual suspects. Hopefully I’m wrong about this when it’s all said and done.
Thanks! Personally, I hope we’re both wrong, too. We can’t ask people to protect us and then malign them when they do exactly that.
Where’s the ACLU lawsuit being filed? where are Chuck Schumer’s calls for disarming the Air Marshalls?
I think this is the way Democrats would handle things as this Metro-North Conductor did. (Commuter railroad that takes people to and from NYC and Northern NY State and Northern CT.

Aw c’mon PCD how do you know what polictical beliefs some lazy civil servant has? I think your hatred of the democratic party is blinding your objectivity
tommy, maybe you get your head out of the Democrat quicksand. Take a survey of “civil servants” as to their political affiliation. Just a simple question, “What party do you belong to?” You don’t have to push poll it like so many Lefties do.
You know tommy, you never can prove we Democrats don’t do that to any thing I’ve posted. Maybe you ought to look at your party closer and objectively for once.
