Libby responds to Fitz

Tom Maguire has a lengthy post up on Scooter Libby’s defense team and their response to Pat Fitzgerald’s court filing.

Here’s what I found to be the most intriguing detail from Libby’s response (via Bloomberg):

April 13 (Bloomberg) — A former top administration official said President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney authorized him to discuss with reporters intelligence on Iraq’s weapons program and didn’t authorize leaking a CIA agent’s name.

Former Cheney chief of staff I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, in documents filed late last night in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, said Bush and Cheney only authorized him to disclose once-classified details from a National Intelligence Estimate paper that they believed supported the president’s claims that Iraq was attempting to buy nuclear material in Niger.

I fully expect the usual suspects to counter that with “he’s falling on his sword for the admin” or a similar variation of that because “BUSH LIED!!!!!!!!”

You were the one getting your info from that web site a few months back (copy/paste) where this guy was talking about the conspiracy and the bombs that blew up the WTC because the planes couldn’t have knocked it down. How’s that going. You still getting info from that guy?

BUSH LIED! I heard him too!

He once refered to Ted :o) Kennedy as a “Distinguished Senator”

When will the Rightwing warmonger’s admit that bush took the USA to war on false pretenses? bush was helping Ruumy to prove that a small force could do a war on the cheap. That was wrong. The neo-cons and Zionists told bush that a war in Iraq would be easy and once taken over Iraq would be a counter-weight to Iran. That was wrong. The Christian conservative wanted Armageddon and bush wanted their votes. That was wrong. bush is a liar who has, and continues to threaten the security of Americans. Peace

  6. sanity says:

yes, yes steve, bush took the US to war and others that were along with us, all by himself.

He went to Britain and overthrew their Prime Minister, or shot him with a mind controlling ray gun and brought them to war also.

He then took his mind control ray gun and shot kerry, and all of congress.

Bush, he is an alien with a mind control ray gun!

Ok, can we take off the tin foil hat now?

Damn you Bak, now I am channeling steve!

No. I don’t know what you’re talking about. But it’s typical. Everytime I come here I hear wild accusations. If you want to extend them to me, I’m not surprised.

  8. Stephen A Prince says:

Father George Zabelka, a Catholic chaplain with the U.S. Air Force, served as a priest for the airmen who dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945, and gave them his blessing. Over the next twenty years, he gradually came to believe that he had been terribly wrong, that he had denied the very foundations of his faith by lending moral and religious support to the bombing. Zabelka, who died in 1992, gave this speech on the 40th anniversary of the bombings.

The destruction of civilians in war was always forbidden by the Church, and if a soldier came to me and asked if he could put a bullet through a child’s head, I would have told him, absolutely not. That would be mortally sinful. But in 1945 Tinian Island was the largest airfield in the world. Three planes a minute could take off from it around the clock. Many of these planes went to Japan with the express purpose of killing not one child or one civilian but of slaughtering hundreds and thousands and tens of thousands of children and civilians – and I said nothing.

    Solitaire,

You copied and pasted information from from a post by RemoveBush who posted 03-01-06 12:55 PM.

Later you were called on it.

This guy Removebush went on to talk about the bombing of the World Trace Center with grandious arrogance and expertise about what Jet Fuel could and couldn’t have done to the WTC making wild claims about Bush.

Everytime you come hear I think of you and that post. And the conversation afterwards. You act as if there are NO differing opinions. You think that Bush broke ALL the laws that you copy and pasted and you do NOT recognize that there are experts of constitutional law that disagree and you never share your credentials.

To makes such irresponsible reckless charges is negligent in normal times but in a time of war is giving aid and comfort to th eenemy and you really should re-examine your strategery. Or not. You help conservatives by speaking the way you do. Same with the guy you copy and pasted from.
