Thanks for the open thread Sister! And thanks for the kind words for The Sandbox now and again.
I still want all of you to come check out the “Why I Fight” series.
And in case you haven’t heard, the ACLU is making waves today.
What are you taking for it? Get your rest, ST!
Oh no, you seemed to be doing better. Get well soon ST, hope you feel better soon.
Hope you feel better soon.
ST: Have you tried Miso soup with tofu? or Mabo tofu? Soybean products are your friend!
ST does not need the troubles she has. On a lighter note? No USA?
“I end by looking back two centuries to 1757, when a certain ambitious, extremely able and gallant militia colonel approached the War Office to ask whether he could be transferred from the militia to the regular forces since he could not rise beyond the rank of colonel in the militia. Had the War Office of the day had an enlightened Minister like my hon. Friend the Minister of State for the Armed Forces, and not told him that, in spite of his gallant role under Wolfe it had no more use for him, the young Colonel Washington might have taken a different view of this country and history might have taken a different course. “
Hope you are feeling better this am.
ST,
I really hope you are feeling better. Get well soon!!
I feel for you ST. Best wishes to you.
**THREAD HIJACK WARNING!!**
Brian over at Iowa Voice notes that the Luxury tax on Long distance telephone calls will be refunded for the last 3 years.
Here’s a quote I lifed from Brian’s post:
The U.S. Treasury Department on Thursday conceded a legal dispute over the federal excise tax on long-distance telephone service and said the Internal Revenue Service will refund tax paid on the service over the past three years.
I think this will be one of the most unclaimed refunds in history. Who keeps phone bills for 3 years? Unless the phone companies will be willing to supply the information on how much tax their subscribers paid, I don’t see the majority of this refund being collected by the taxpayer.
Maybe the NSA can help us out…
I do home you are feeling better Dear. – Lorica
I am losing my mind, or forgetting how to type. I do HOPE you are feeling better Dear. – Lorica
Thanks for that info PCD! I am one of the losers that actually may have my bills. (I compare year to year cost okay!)
I’m a loser too? I have 10 years of phone bills.
Time to purge!
Bak- I keep everything for 7 years. Now don’t go purging them until you collect on them! PCD is right about this though..how many people keep their phone bills! Does it apply to cellular?
Pam,
Check out the article link from Iowa Voice. As I read it, the tax refund was for Long Distance tax for the last 3 years.
I turn in my phone bill for partial reimbursement, and my ex took all my financial records upon leaving. That is why I’ll probably not get any of that refund.
