Will the ST blog hit 300K visits today?
I do believe it will happen 
As of the writing of this post, the count stands at 299,949.
My blog has been in existence since October of 2003. I didn’t do much with it until August of 2004, and floundered around a bit after that unsure of how to promote it until the spring of last year – which is when things really picked up. So the majority of those 300K visits, I’m guessing have come from the last year. I may even contact Sitemeter to find out a break down of visitors by year just out of curiosity.
Thanks to those who have made this blog a daily stop on your journey around the blogosphere! Thanks as well go to all who have linked to my little corner of the blogosphere. May the good times continue
Update: I didn’t have to contact Sitemeter afterall – I just had to search my Sitemeter by year and what they have there is visitors in the last year (from last June, to this June). I’m not on my home computer right now so I can’t do a screencap, but here’s what the Sitemeter reads. Note how low it was in June of last year and how it rose over the course of the year.
That people out there are interested in what I have to say makes me feel good. I can’t really put it into words. “Thanks” just doesn’t do it justice but that’s really all I can think to say at the moment.

OK, Sis, how did you do it? Since December 27, 2004, I’ve had a whopping 20,568 visitors; since converting to Word Press (which enables comments) last November, I’ve managed just 7,846 visitors.
I’m not as good looking as you, but that can’t be it! How do I get up to 300,000 visitors?
Congrats Sis!!!! I can’t wait until you hit 1,000,000 hits.

You probably came here around the time I was advertising my blog at the Anchoress’ site. My trackbacks hardly ever worked at Anchoress’ site, but I did get some nice traffic from her when I started advertising there (along with a few other blogs). I advertised this blog for about two months total and it definitely helped.
Dana, a combo of things helped, I think: advertising at a few key blogs that weren’t very expensive, being fortunate enough to get linked to a few times last summer by some top ten bloggers, guest blogging at other blogs, and utilizing trackbacks like crazy. I also sought out advice from a few of the more well known bloggers who were gracious enough to give me some pointers, which really helped.
COOL!!! You are Awesome Dear, Thank You So Much. I was thinking it has been longer than a year, but the date is 7/29/2005. WoW it just seems longer for some reason, I mean that in a good way. Looking at the tracking statistics, what was happening in Jan and Feb of this year? Amazing level of visits then…
I just checked back and it looks like in January I was linked up to Neal Boortz’s site and in Feb I did quite a bit of blogging on the UAE issue and got quite a few trackbacks on some of those posts.
And thank *you* Sev – you know I always enjoy your spot on commentary and wit
