Weekend open thread (Check the comments for Canes game commentary)
Sorry I’m a bit late in posting the open thread today.
Don’t forget that the Hurricanes play the Oilers in Edmonton tonight in game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals (NBC – 8pm ET). The ‘Canes have to win one game to win the Cup. Edmonton would have to win both. I hope the ‘Canes wrap it up tonight as I don’t think I’ll be able to sit through game 7. This stuff stresses me out!

31 to 10 on the shots is why it’s 3-0. Carolina needs to stop the passing and start the shooting. Get some rebounds and maybe even some luck. No matter, it will be a shutout win on Monday. The Hurricanes will skate the cup at home!

If the ‘Canes lose game 7, it will go down in sports history as one of the biggest chokes of all time.

That was a sweet goal. Give credit where due, but dang Carolina, heard of DEFENSE? That poor goalie is being sacrificed.
The officials should’ve “let them play” there, rather than be so quick to step between Cullen and Torres. They knew it was coming.
Hopefully Torres will “get his” in Game 7.
S.T. The Canes won’t play like this in game 7. They will be good and mad. No worries. They’ll get up early and stay up all game.
Torres won’t get anything in game 7, unless Edmonton is up by a lot or the Canes are. If it’s close, nobody’s gonna do anything.

You think Doug Weight being out has been a huge factor?
It has been a factor, but with him in the lineup they still don’t win the game. I don’t think it’s 4-0, though, because it does cause some line juggling which is never cool.
Raffi Torres does have that little skidmark down his chin..
And I’d like to slug it!

I don’t know ST. It’s hard to lose someone, but Edmonton came out on fire tonight. The fans, home ice, all the emotions. It was their night. Remember, this team bounce the wings in 6, San Jose in 6 and Anaheim in 5. They are playing great hockey. Still, no matter. All those emotions will be for Carolina in game 7.
Goodnight everyone.. we’ll get back to it on Monday. Rest up tomorrow.. come up with some creative curse words “just in case” (I’ve thrown quite a few out tonight – neighbors probably hate me now).
