Have a wonderful Independence Day!

Posted by: ST on July 4, 2006 at 9:10 am

Slate has posted an great Americana photo collection that, I think, captures a little slice of what life in America is all about.

Have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day, everyone. Enjoy the BBQ and hot dogs – and remember to wear sunscreen! :)

I had the freedom to work 10 hours yesterday. So, I missed the parades by Union Troublemakers like the SEIU who’s local 199 is part and parcel the leadership of the local Democrats, and they are striking a hospital Thursday morning. 33% of the nurses at this hospital are dues paying members of SEIU, but the union wants to shut down the hospital for things like making all the nurses pay union dues.

In Dubuque, the SEIU are like the Sunni in Iraq, they want their minority to rule and damn democracy.

The day after the 4th of July, Ken Delay dies.

Enron Corp. founder Kenneth Lay, who was convicted of helping perpetuate one of the most sprawling business frauds in U.S. history, has died of a heart attack in Colorado. He was 64.

I am sure the usual suspects will have nothing but vitriol to spew even on the mans death.
