It is sad that Steve Irwin died. He lived a good life doing that which he loved. Even tho I tend to agree with Phil, messing with wild animals in my mind is crazy, I won’t fault him for doing it. Many people are stuck in dead end jobs with dead end lives, Steve Irwin was not one of those people. – Lorica
I feel bad now, but I used to always say “That guy is going to get killed doing that stupid stuff, and it’s going to be on film”. I never suspected a stingray, though, I thought it would be a croc. Stingrays are just another of God’s ways of saying “stay out of the ocean”.
Respectfully guys, “messing with wild animals” IMHO falls short of being a fair description to what he spent most of his life doing. OTOH- I understand what you are saying re: “If you mess with the bull, you (sometimes) get the horn”. A choice he gladly accepted, a challenge he lived for and he died doing what he loved. RIP Steve.
Speaking of choices and natural laws of man and nature, how do you see the Islamonazi terrorist nations and their ilk, including the DBM, which are guilty by association through their multiple and sustained traitorous acts, stack up against a true American? Interesting ponderments abound the date that those nutcases were born, however, I knew that at the time Communism was also rapidly trying to get a foot hold on our system and many of them also fell into that category of following the Carl Marx theory that when you tell a lie often enough people will beleive it and also the fact of using those who beleive things so easily as usefull idiots. Why else would the Liberal infested city of Seatle Washington have a huge statue of Joe Stallin.
There’s nothing crazy about loving animals. St. Francis is a saint whom some thought was “crazy” as well for his love of animals and the significance he related it to God, but then, he’s a saint and we ain’t. All of God’s creatures are valuable. Humans are the most valuable, which is why this isn’t the time to call a man who just died stupid. Accidents happen. Maybe we should show a bit more compassion than the animals, right Phil?

So tell me something Amy, did this Saint Francis fella go playing around with Great White Sharks or 25 foot long saltwater Crocodiles or poisonous snakes that with in 2 or 3 seconds of being bit your dead?
So when you take in the scope of the dangerous animals he was playing around with yes he was crazy.
But then again Amy you haven’t had the life experience that most of us who are older know of and probably don’t know first hand what a animal of those sizes can do but I lost a friend to a bear mauling so don’t go lecturing me about whether he was or was not crazy.
Also Amy it was no accident that killed Steve Irwin, an accident is what happened to my friend, when a Wild Animal sneaks up from you from behind, not jumping into the frey like Steve Irwin did, that is what is Stupid.
You are too naive though to know the difference.
