- About now would be a good time for all of the election managers from both parties to stop pounding smoke up their candidates derriers. there is no “there” in the old ploy of splitting off blocks of voters. americans are polerized absolutely like never before. It’s a losing angle. spme pf the Republican candidates were planning on the Hillery shuffle, by distancing themselves from Bush on key issues. They’ll tred more softly now. As for the Dembulbs, they still cling desperately to the idea that “We’re not Bush” is a winning formula. They’re even using a variation on some of their own like Lieberman. that’s promarily because they want to believe that conservative “anger” equates to Dem votes. It’s nonsense. I may ne angry with some things, like the border mess, but I’d have to be juat plain nuts to vote for the cut and run appeaser, blame America first, crowd.
