Although blogger is down – again – for service, I suppose, I did manage two posts today. One on a sexual predator who got caught and one on the Florida Elections.

It’s a beautiful day down here in Largo, with the temperature at 71 degrees right now. Not as much fun as it should be, what with me still fighting off bronchitis, but cool, breezy, and sunny. I even paid my library late fees.
    :d

  4. Fall finally arrived in the Lowcountry. Beautiful clear and cool days with no humidity.

OK… now that the weather report is over. I have a question:

I want to do an election related post comparing the founded fears of terrorism that the GOP is using in ads with the unfounded fears that Democrats use to motivate the gullible.

People will remember the racebaiting, fearmongering of ads the Dems ran in 2000 suggesting that a vote for George W. Bush means another black church will burn, Social Security recipients will be cut off, the air/water/land will be poisoned by pollution, etc.

What I’d like to find is a good source that catalogs all these phony fears with links back to the original sources.

Tall order, but perhaps someone has seen something like that. Drop me a note at Mike’s America if you come across anything.

Brian at Iowa Voice is on Overdrive today. He’s got a post up about the person who started Foley-gate. Seems this person was an activist from the Human Rights Campaign. You can guess that the person is a dishonest, Liberal, gay activist.

  6. - The outlook for Republican seat holders in the House for one thing. Other than that I’ll quit while I’m ahead. :d

    - Bang **==

  7. - But wait. Looks like Mr. Joe Vento, the sausage guy from Penn, is on to something. After requiring his customers to order in english, he was called rascist, and every name in the Liberal crud-speak dictionary. But it seems the voters of Penn. kind of aggree with him.

    - In a recent poll 77% said that English should be named officially as the national language. Only 15% desented, with the remaining not caring one way or the other. Pay close attention to those numbers. they are another indication of the real size, even somewhat exaggerated if anything, of the Eurothink numbskulls that want to turn America into France West.

    ST,
Are you familiar with the “John-Boy & Billy” radio show? The two of them and most of their cast, save old curmudgeon Robert D. Raiford, are pretty much “red-state” guys and often have a few comments regarding current affairs which are in-line with the majority of posters here. Also, they are pretty funny especially when John-Boy gets into his free-form (as in mixing up words) comments.

My new bedroom is almost done!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soon I will be able to sleep and wake up in a real bedroom instead of my living room and more importantly I can take a shower in my new bathroom instead of bathing out of a bucket!!!!!!!

    OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!

  12. EXCELLENT news, NC! \:d/

GWR – I hadn’t even noticed that. Wow! That is fantabulous :)

And Bak – LOL at you! ;)

  13. Jeff Harvey: Yep, I’ve listened to them some but I have to confess I’m not a frequent listener. They talk too much in the morning, and I prefer listening to music on my way in to work ;)

They’ve been around here a long time, haven’t they?

  14. Moved this from another thread. –ST

When Teddy can’t get his way, he calls the KGB!

Can we call Ted Kennedy a traitor now???

  16. Severian says:

Woo Hoo! Great news NC Cop! It’s amazing how good a real bath or shower feels after having to do sponge baths isn’t it? One of the things they did on the show Babylon 5 that helped make it seem more realistic was that everyone who hit the space station after being onboard deep space ships for any length of time, the first thing they wanted was a real, fresh water shower. I’ve heard the same thing from guys coming back to port from destroyers and smaller ships, I WANNA SHOWER!

Good for you NC, take a long hot one and relax, you deserve it. Glad to hear things seem to be getting back close to normal.

  17. Severian says:

Can we call Ted Kennedy a traitor now???

I’ve been following the revelations about both Kennedy’s and Carter’s dealings with the Soviets for a while now. As usual, the MSM is completely ignoring this to the point that damned few people know about it, but it is just hugely important. Both of them should be on trial for treason, it just beggars the imagination to think that no one is prosecuting them for this kind of backstabbing. Democrats, power is truly more important than anything to them, more important than their country, certainly more important than ethics.

I really really wonder what these same traitors are saying to people like the Syrians and Iranians today? Gee, ramp up the violence in Iraq and help us win the election, and we’ll get out of your hair and let you have nukes?

  18. sanity says:

But… the women asked for it!!

In a Ramadam sermon in a Sydney mosque, Sheik al-Hilali suggested that a group of Muslim men recently jailed for many years for gang rapes were not entirely to blame.

There were women, he said, who ’sway suggestively’ and wore make-up and immodest dress “and then you get a judge without mercy and gives you 65 years. But the problem, but the problem all began with who?” he said, referring to the women victims.

Outrage as Muslim cleric likens women to ‘uncovered meat’

Addressing 500 worshippers on the topic of adultery, Sheik al-Hilali added: “If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it..whose fault is it – the cats or the uncovered meat?

It’s not the muslim men fault, they are weak, it is the womens fault…they are like meat to the hungry cats.

So, in his wierd twisted way, he is saying muslim men have no self control? That they cannot control their urges or instinct? That they are no more than animals?

“The uncovered meat is the problem.”

Really? I would think a person, a human being that cannot control themselves and that act like animals, well I would think THAt is the problem.

He went on: “If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab (veil), no problem would have occurred.”

Out of sight out of mind right?

Women, he said, were ‘weapons’ used by Satan to control men.

And yet, it is the men that act like beast and attack the innocent…..

Prime Minister Howard labelled the mufti’s comments as ‘appalling and reprehensible’, adding: “They are quite out of touch with contemporary values in Australia.

“The idea that women are to blame for rapes is preposterous. I not only reject the comments, I condemn them unconditionally.” Treasurer Peter Costello urged the Muslim community to condemn the comments and take action against the Sheik.

“If you have a significant religious leader like this preaching to a flock in a situation where we’ve had gang rapes, in a way that seems to make it justifiable, or at least lighten the dehumanising and degrading extent of the offence.”

    Damn straight.

Not that I condone this, but as a parrallel, what would they have to say if homosexual men acted the same way to them, attacking them and gang raping them, because THEY aren’t covered?
