      I feel dead inside.

    2. Drewsmom says:

Steele would be soooooo much better, whose pickin these people?

    3. TedintheShed says:

Another in a series of bad decisions…

but wasn’t the same said about mighty Howie Dean?

    4. I. M. Neiman says:

Another Bush/Rove move to add ‘color’ to the GOP image. I am unable at this time to judge whether Martinez will be any good or not.

    5. Drewsmom says:

I’m sorry Neiman, but I want someone strong on immagration and the problem it is …. Martinez is weak on immagration and wants amnesty for em … sorry, I want the fence and the flood gates closed. !!!:-w

    6. Baklava says:

If I were Martinez, I’d step aside and offer the job to Steele. But that’s me…:-"

    7. tom says:

The senator who helped politicized the Schiavo case to the discredit of his party will now head the RNC. Sounds like a good move to me.

    8. Baklava says:

Do you have a complaint about Steele tom? We want to hear your opinion. Really…

    9. tom says:

      No I don’t Baklava. Really..

    10. NC Cop says:

Sure he has a complain about Steele, he’s a Republican, that’s all he needs.

    11. I. M. Neiman says:

Drewsmom: I didn’t take a position on Martinez because I don’t know very much about him, so you are disagreeing with someone not having taken any position whatsoever.

    12. Baklava says:

Drewsmom was adding information. She was trying to be helpful.

    13. NC Cop says:

I want the fence and the flood gates closed. !!!

I hear ya! Unfortunately whatever party does that is going to lose millions of Hispanic voters and neither party is willing to do it.

    14. - As an update, Bush has announced he’s nominated Martinez as “deputy” RNC head, with two other members to share the leadership. The RNC has to vote on it, to make anything official. Maybe a few unhappy Reps put in a word for Steele. Whatever the reasons behind it, it’s not a done deal.

      - Bang **==

    15. - Another possibility is, it’s a Rove manuever, leaving steele open to run as a VP to who ever gets the primary nod for the ‘08 Presidency bid.

      - The next two years are going to be very interesting.
