Thanks to ChefJeff for the tip. Via Drudge:

REPORT: All charges may be dropped as early as tomorrow in Duke Lacrosse rape case, FOXNEWS reports… ‘We will be hearing a dismissal in the coming days,’ MORE…

The rape charges were dropped back in late December. The remaining charges are kidnapping and sexual offense. I’ve got a busy afternoon ahead but I’ll check when I can for any possible links and updates to this story.

Also, it has recently been reported that the alleged ‘victim’ has not been cooperating with the new special prosecutors on the case, so I’m sure that has something to do with this, in addition to many other facts that have been revealed in the last few months which go against the prosecution’s case.

PM Update: FoxKC reports:

The remaining charges against three Duke University lacrosse players originally indicted for rape may be dropped sometime within the next few days, according to a report.

Inside Lacrosse Magazine writer Paul Caulfield told FOX News on Thursday that several sources have revealed to him that the assault and attempted kidnapping charges still pending against Collin Finnerty, 19, of Garden City, N.Y.; Dave Evans, 23, of Bethesda, Md.; and Reade Seligmann, 20, of Essex Falls, N.J., will soon be dropped.

Caulfield said his sources include more than just attorneys for the defense.

“There is no case here and they will be hearing a dismissal in the coming days,” Caulfield told FOX News.

But I thought that the fact that there was an investigation is proof that there was a crime?

Oh, this isn’t the Libby thread.

  3. PCD says:

OK, once again, is anyone going to hold the 88 Duke Professors accountable for holding a kangaroo court, then going out and harming the Lacrosse players in any way they could including flunking them in class?

Or do the lib, NEA professors get away with this?

There goes the stripper’s chances at a kazillion-dollar lawsuit, but she’ll probably still try to bring suit, in hopes she gets paid something to make her go away.

    :(

Accountability?!?!? Surely, you jest PCD. The left never apologizes, just ask Al Sharpton. They can make all the accusations they want, until their accusations are proven false, then they move onto something else.
    Disgusting.

They get away with it. it will get buried faster then my cat buries her turds.

Democrats and marxist college professors always get a pass from their pals in the media.

And how many thousands of dollars are the accused out in attorney’s fees over charges that never should have been brought, just so Mike Nifong could win re-election?

Now, picture yourself as a corporate human resources officer, and getting a résumé with the name Collin Finnerty or Dave Evans or Reade Seligmann on it. You might know that all of the charges were dropped, and of course you know that they were legally innocent, but will there be that ever-so-niggling thought in the back of your mind that maybe, just maybe, your company would be better off not considering these candidates? After all, there are plenty of other, equally qualified candidates who don’t have anything significantly Googlable in their pasts.
