Found this over at Tammy Bruce’s blog.

The book is entitled Poems from Guantanamo. The sort of book that folks like Ward Churchill, Osama bin Laden, and Harry Reid would curl up with and enjoy.

My take? It is Deleted-MD that should be shoved far up the publishers’ collective Deleted-Halliburton sideways while their Deleted-Karl Rove are Deleted-FOX News with piano wire and unsold Sheryl “Scat” Crow’s albums.

Third quake just a few days back since the biggie up north, each epicenter further south. Where we sit is very close to the fissure intersection delta of the major fault lines. If it gallops instead of shakes, my precautions may be in vain.

Wonder what Chris Ledoux would do?

That’s a beautiful butterfly, mistress! Among all of God’s creatures, I believe the butterfly is to be envied. After all, “butterflies are FREE.” @};-

I have always thought the gathering of Monarch Butterflies in Mexico would be a wonderful event to see. :)

    About the book:

“Poems from Guantanamo brings to light figures of concrete, individual humanity, against the fabric of cruelty woven by the ‘war on terror.’ The poems and poets’ biographies reveal one dimension of this officially obscured narrative, from the perspective of the sufferers; the legal and literary essays provide the context which has produced–under atrocious circumstances–a poetics of human dignity.”–Adrienne Rich

As I was reading the above quote about this book, I kept thinking about Edwards saying that the war on terror was a bumper sticker issue. Sooooo why is it these people are always the one’s who qualify the term by using quotes?? Seems to me if it is a bumper sticker issue it is to those on the left.

    Here is another interesting quote:

Jumah al Dossari is a thirty-three-year old Bahraini who has been held at Guantanamo Bay for more than five years. He has been in solitary confinement since the end of 2003 and, according to the U.S. military, has tried to kill himself twelve times while in custody

Interestingly enough, not a single word about his crimes against the nation. Nothing about why he was on the field of battle fighting against our soldiers. Absolutely no reason why he has been kept in solitary confinement. Hmmmmm could it be because he is a danger to guards?? These people know no bounds to their hypocrisy. They want the American people to see this killer as a person, but I have to wonder if this man wouldn’t cut their throats as soon as talk to them. – Lorica

    NICE!!! :(

The number of National Guard troops along the Arizona-Mexico border will be trimmed in half by the end of next month.

So we are still not secure but we are going to draw down our protection anyway. Fully aware that the enemy is ramping up it’s desires to do us harm. God help us all if we are attacked again. – Lorica

  6. Could this be the silver lining, Lorica?

  7. Great White Rat says:

ST, it would seem to be a good start – definitely some good provisions in it – but I have my doubts. Call me cynical and suspicious, but if that bill can pass by 89-1, with some of the supporters being people like Kennedy and Kerry, there’s got to be something in it I don’t know about but won’t like. Guess we’ll have to wait to see what it is. :-?

Yes, Dear this is somewhat a silver lining. I might be overly pessimistic concerning this Congress. But the storm cloud this is a silver lining to, is huge and it scares me. Maybe I am operating under fear, but with Sept. 11th being on a Tuesday again, I am concerned.

Sadly I just don’t believe ‘em. This is the same thing they said last October, and that LAW is completely ignored by this Congress. These liars need to go. We need people in there we can trust. A friend was talking about lawyers being politicians. He said that it should be considered a “Conflict Of Interest” for a lawyer to be a politician. I am begining to agree.

The action marked a surprising reversal from Wednesday, when it appeared the extra border security funding would fall victim to partisan and philosophical disagreements. But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, in a highly unusual floor speech, admitted today that he’d thrown “a little tantrum” the night before when he pulled the $3 billion amendment after an objection by Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas.

That paragraph tells me all I need to know. Harry Reid pulled this amendment cuz he didn’t wike an objection to it. Big baby!! GWR is right, what is in this bill that everyone suddenly likes. Or is it more political opportunism. I hope and pray everyday, thank God for a half hour drive into town to go to work, gives me plenty of time to pray. Everyday, I pray for enlightenment, and clarity, and humility for these guys. I just think they are to far deceived. Who knows tho. Saul, called Paul, murdered the Church before his conversion. If the Lord could get to him, is anyone to far gone?? – Lorica
