And speaking of the war in Iraq, there are a couple of good pieces up in the Weekly Standard today on the bad week the anti-war Democrats had in light of Petraeus’ and Crocker’s respective testimonies. Fred Barnes writes about the “Surgin’ General” and AEI’s David Gelernter writes about why this was not a good week for Democrats hoping to use Petraeus’ and Crocker’s testimonies to advance the idea that we should cut and run.

George W Bush can claim successes in the security field. Bush and the GOP have protected The US from a repeat of 9/11. US troops are fighting Al Qaeda in Iraq.This complements the war in Afghanistan. It is basically taking the fight to Al Qaeda on its home territory. Al Qaeda is under pressure. The terrorist cancer is being excised at its roots.

Watched the a.n.s.w.e.r commies on c-Span left spin and then got to see Gathering of Eagles and it was great. No mega shouting directing civil disobediance and other crap the left wants to do, just calm uplifting speech for the most part.
Noticed alot from the commie group got arrested. I hope the Eagles had the satisfaction of getting some one on one face time with the nutcases.
