The Carolina Panthers host the Houston Texans (UPDATE: PANTHERS LOSE 34-21)

Shame on me for not starting a post last Sunday on the Panthers first game, which they played in St. Louis, where they defeated the Rams 27-13, breaking a three-year streak of losing their opening game (home or away). I will make up for it in the coming weeks by creating a post each Sunday for Panthers games, and for others to discuss how their team is doing :)

The Cats’ first home game of the season has started off on a good note against the Houston Texans, as they are currently leading 14-7 as of the time of this writing.

I am thinking that, in spite of our dismal pre-season performance, that the Panthers might actually have a decent season this year – especially considering the fact that Sports Illustrated did NOT pick the Panthers to go all the way to Super Bowl and win this season, as that prediction seems to be something of a curse ;)

And what to make of the videotaping scandal involving the New England Patriots? It’s obviously bad, and has caused people to second-guess the team’s successes on the field, but I’m also wondering when the next team is going to get caught doing this, as I seriously doubt the Patriots were the only ones.

Update: Ugh. Bad, embarrassing game. The ‘Cats lose 34-21.

Oh well, the Giants are getting their a** handed to them again. Looks like a banner year coming for them. The Yankees lost to Boston 10-1 last night.
    :(
    It’s gonna be a long fall/winter.
    When does hockey season start?

The NHL pre-season starts this week :) Regular season will begin the first week of October.

September 29-30….Anaheim vs. LA, back-to-back games in London. Everyone else starts right after that, like Ryan said.

More important, my fantasy team is defending its first Cup. Gotta figure out way to beat the salary cap. :d

NC Cop, the Giants may be awful this year, but at least one former Giant is a winner.

    Wow, great story, GWR!! Thanks!

    I’m slightly confused- dazed actually.

My Browns won…how should I react?

Don’t feel bad, mistress. My poor beleagured Raiders are now 0-2, having lost to the Broncos in overtime yesterday. Lotsa surprises this season, including the Aints (who lost again). Steelers and Colts both looking good. As are the Pats (the team I love to hate). Fall and football….does it get any better? :d:d:d:d
