Today is the 220th anniversary of the signing of the US Constitution, one of the greatest documents ever written. Professor Donald Douglas at Burkean Reflections shares his thoughts on this very special day, as does my friend Angevin over at the Oxford Medievalist.
Me? I’m just so very, very thankful to live in this wonderful country, where, contrary to the opinions of the hysterical left, we all still have the right to voice our opinions no matter what they are, along with many, many other rights. These rights were brought to us by the blood, sweat, and tears of many a great person before us and it’s something we should celebrate not just today, but everyday.

And Robert C. Byrd was there!
I still remember the “Schoolhouse Rock” song for the Constitution on Saturday Mornings. This is a great country, and it has given birth to some of the most amazing people. God Bless America!!!

Thanks for the reminder, ST!
Oh yeah, like that’s something to celebrate. A bunch of slave owning, white Europeons getting together to decide how to rape the native people and pollute the land and setup a country that would spread fascism around the world. Yeah, lots to celibrate. You just know George Bush had a hand in it, it has Haliburtons stamp all over it.
Hey anyone notice that Hillary announced her universal healthcare program today?? Coincidence or by design?? Actually as I write this I am thinking she isn’t smart enough to tie these two together. – Lorica
