Sister Toldjah!

I’m a bit busy this morning, but wanted to link up quickly to Michael Goldfarb’s post at the Weekly Standard on the revolution happening in Myanmar, as he’s got the latest news. If you’ve read up on this story the last several of days, you’ll see how nasty it’s getting there, with the military beating up and firing on - and in some cases, killing monks and others who are protesting. Malkin’s covering the story as well, and has several links of interest related to what’s happening.

I’ll check back in later today.

PM Update: Senators McConnell and Feinstein have made a video in which they express support for the people of Burma:

  1. Those evil Monks are starting a war for no good reason!!! How soon before George Bush sends troops over there to help those evil war mongering monks in their fight against the rightful military government!!! I would start screaming names but Dear Sister would ban me from her blog, it’s a conspiracy so she doesn’t have to hear the truth. Noooo monks for oil!! /ends channeling code pink whack job

Our Founding Fathers got it right, the human heart yearns to be free. The other side of that is that in some cases that same heart desires to control others. I pray that the monks get their wish. Democratic reforms in Myanmar would be good for everyone. Hasn’t this been proven over and over again, when people are free, they tend to be more productive, caring, have more pride, and happier?? You would think by now these governments would have figured it out. - Lorica
