Preview of fall foliage pix

I’m still sorting through all the photos I took at the mountains this weekend (it was close to 160) but wanted to post this one as sort of a “sneak peek” at what you’ll be seeing once I get done organizing and uploading them.

Grandfather Mountain

That’s a close-up shot I took of the side of Grandfather Mountain. There are many more where that came from, including pictures of the top of it. I didn’t go all the way to the top of the mountain, but my camera’s zoom made me look as though I got pretty darn close to it :D

One thing I’ve noticed is that the pictures take better if I don’t use the landscape feature the camera has. The ones I took without using the landscape feature look clearer and more colorful than when I did, with the exception of the ones where color wasn’t a big deal (you’ll know what I mean when you see them). I’m going to try and brighten some of the ones I took with the landscape feature a little in order to (hopefully) capture the color a bit better.

Hope to have them all uploaded by the weekend – and they’ll all be big enough you can save as wallpaper on your computer if you like :)

I’ve only got 2 settings on my digital camera, closeup and landscape. If it’s not on landscape, anything but closeup is blurry…

NIIIIICE! Now that’s some serious color.

The colors are (if the leaves weren’t blown and washed off the trees yesterday) a bit behind here in Wisconsin.

Great colors. Looking forward to seeing more. Whats the name of the mountain?

I just picked up a new ( used) Nikon 8800. A serious piece of photo equipment. I managed to take some good shots at Rattlesnake Point, about 30 miles west of Toronto. Will show you some later.

    5. The pic is of Grandfather Mountain.

Do send along some pix of Rattlesnake Point when you can. Would love to see ‘em.
