Project Valour-IT update

Posted by: Sister Toldjah on November 13, 2007 at 10:10 pm

Yesterday was the official “end” of the friendly Project Valour-IT fundraising competiton between military service branches, but as you can see from the graphic on the left, Soldiers Angels’ fell well short of their goals (it was like that for all branches, not just the Marines).

Holly Aho, the team leader for the Marine branch, speculates as to the reasons why contributions were so low this year in comparison to prior years here (Lawhawk is on the case as well). She is also is encouraging everyone to leave up their donation buttons on their blogs until the goal is met, which I will do (unless they tell me to take it down ;) ).

A hearty “thank you” for all who have contributed. If you haven’t yet but would like to, please click here.

The Valour-IT blog has the almost-final numbers (pending the checks and possibly corporate matching donations):

    Army: $53,023.00
    Marines: $39,673.00
    Air Force: $25,638.34
    Navy/CG: $20,081.75
    And non-team donations $29,954.82

Also, the buttons will be active for a few more days because of various technical problems during the fundraising drive.
