Friday/weekend open thread

Howdy ya’ll,

I’m actually feeling under the weather this morning, and will be leaving the 8-5 shortly to go home and get some rest. I normally take Saturdays off from blogging, but today will be my day of rest instead. Enjoy your day, and I will (hopefully) feel better enough tomorrow to blog.

TGIF!

ST, Here’s your warning about Sunday, INCOMING! Favre’s arm is nice and limber and he’ll have 5 good wideouts to throw to.

Almost forgot; since humor is the best medicine, this week’s HamNation is a magnificent sendup of Hill’s Office.

Despite progress being made in Iraq the traitors press on….. undaunted by continuing successes.

AP shines like a gem in a particular orifice but even if what’s printed is true, has the lack of bad news become so sparse they are required to do something like this to encourage America’s enemies in the WOT.

According to the Army, about nine in every 1,000 soldiers deserted in fiscal year 2007, ……

Presuming the story is true, it’s too bad that the less than one tenth of one percent of deserters isn’t equated to the same ratio of real news that gets through the lefty filter.

Same story with new and improved bad headline

    These jerks are shameless.

Another example of our fine watchdog media at work:

    CNN Arranged Hillary’s Diamond/Pearl Finale

Maria Luisa, the UNLV student who asked Hillary Clinton whether she preferred “diamonds or pearls” at last night’s debate wrote on her MySpace page this morning that CNN forced her to ask the frilly question instead of a pre-approved query about the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository.

Why don’t these networks just come out and say that they want Hillary to win. Everyone knows it. At least my level of respect for them would rise to say that of a………garden slug.

I left Walmart tonight, I looked up and saw the American Flag waving in the breeze, a spotlight from the side of the building shining on it; and it is always hard to resist the urge to salute as I walk by.

Most people consider the flag nothing more than a symbol, a fabric that we fly that is nothing more than a patch on a shirt or bumper sticker on our car.

They fail to realize that flag is the symbol of our country. It symbolizes our history, the good and the bad, the hard won fights and the tragic losses.

I look at the American Flag and it holds many meanings for me. It holds American History gently waving in the breeze – showing that through the good times and the bad, the American Flag still stands, and waves majestically on high, as if nodding to us and saying, we are still here, the proud and the brave, and we still stand strong as a nation.

Yes, that is what it says to me every time I lift my eyes up and gaze on that flowing red, white and blue fabric.

As my eyes drift down, it then makes me wonder, with all the cultures we try and uplift, and try to show that we recognize and even captitulate to….it makes me wonder how we downgrade and ignore our own. That feeling American seems to be a threat to others and that we should stop trying to show how we feel, and take pride in what we are because we might offend someone.

The funny thing is, if they live in America, they have that RIGHT to be offended…it is part of our freedoms, just as it is our right to feel pride in what we are.

    Americans.

File this under the DOH!!! category:

N.J. SWAT Team Axed After Racy Hooters Pictures Surface

Now, being in law enforcement, I can tell you that sometimes my fellow police officers can do things that are pretty…….STUPID!!!!!!!

This would be one of those times. If the pretty women want to take a picture with you that’s fine. If the pretty women want to take a picture next to your police car, that’s fine. However, you really shouldn’t allow this to happen:

The Hoboken, N.J., SWAT team was axed from the department on Friday after pictures surfaced showing Hooters waitresses posing with their guns, sprawled on top of police vehicles and dangling off the shoulders of officers, MyFoxNY.com reports.

    *SIGH*

American Thinker has put into perspective for those interested in some very interesting perspective indeed, the folly and woes of the AP’s shameless *reportage*.

Just another day in heresydise for the extended sabotage the AP has become so infamous for.

In the weekly updates regarding government policy for victory in Iraq, there seems to be more than 46,000 more reasons for the Dhimmicrats to whine about, in the past thirty days alone.

I wonder if they’ll be called deserters too.
