I think Rolling Stone magazine has ZERO class with this line of this article:

back to living the PTSD-inducing nightmare that McCain himself never got to leave —

  3. Bak, re: the Haditha news, Allahpundit pointed out that this may not be the good news people think it is.

    True ST but, this is.

Report: Muslim Women in Headscarves Banned From Obama Photo Op

Two Muslim women were prohibited from sitting behind the podium at Barack Obama’s Monday rally in Detroit, apparently so their headscarves would not appear in photographs with him, according to a report Wednesday in the Politico.com.

One volunteer said that one of the women could not be seen on TV with Obama “because of the political climate and what’s going on in the world and what’s going on with Muslim Americans” according to the Muslim woman’s friend.

My, my, my. I thought only Republicans were guilty of “Islamaphobia”?!?!?!? Just another example of the do as I say, not as I do democrats.

  6. forest hunter says:

Both women said they were disappointed by the treatment they received at the rally

Maybe they should buy a one way ticket, head over (pun unintended) to one of the ’stans and learn the meaning of harsh treatment.

“This is of course not the policy of the campaign. It is offensive and counter to Obama’s commitment to bring Americans together and simply not the kind of campaign we run. We sincerely apologize for the behavior of these volunteers” Obama spokesman Bill Burton said.

Better add another lift kit to the bus, it’s getting pretty full of people who they never knew.

“You don’t win an election . . . by trying to keep people out,” Obama said. “You’re supposed to try to bring them in.”

I guess nobody got the memo.

Convenience and excuses do not a Presidential candidate make.

    Is this serious?!?!?!?!

Foreign policy architects could benefit from studying Winnie the Pooh and Star Wars, according to a Barack Obama adviser who is set to attend a meeting of the Democratic candidate’s national security work group Wednesday.

Richard Danzig, former Navy secretary under President Clinton, drew several creative and unusual analogies to explain the challenges America faces overseas during a foreign policy conference in Washington, D.C., last week, according to an article in the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph.

In arguing that the country should back off a policy that causes too much pain, Danzig said, “”Winnie the Pooh seems to me to be a fundamental text on national security.”

    :o

  8. Great White Rat says:

NC, it’s even worse than that. When they’re not planning to use Pooh’s Primer on how to conduct foreign policy, they’re invoking Luke Skywalker.

LINK from the article in the UK Telegraph.

Here’s the Pooh foreign policy in a nutshell, as outlined by Danzig:

the future of US strategy in the war on terrorism should follow a lesson from the pages of Winnie the Pooh, which can be shortened to: if it is causing you too much pain, try something else.

In other words, let’s just give in every time we’re challenged. This whole icky national security idea just causes us way too many headaches…and besides, it makes everyone else think we’re trying to be macho or something, and then they don’t like us.

But this part was the real knee-slapper:

“When we’re doing mundane things, we lose track of our ambition but when someone comes along, like Asahara, the head of the cult, and presents himself as a messiah and gives us a picture of progress that is ordained by heaven and that we are carrying out a saintly mission on earth that is for us extraordinarily evocative.”

Mr Danzig added: “The parallels with al Qaeda are obvious.”

Uh, no. Actually, the parallels with Obama are obvious. The irony is totally lost on this cluck.

By the way, the article also says that Danzig will be the National Security Advisor in an Obama administration. I just feel sooooo secure knowing that the foreign policy mantra of an Obama administration would be WWPD (What Would Pooh Do), don’t you?
