According to a recent Gallup poll, which states that’s the “lowest ever for any U.S. institution.”

The mediots didn’t fare much better – they came in at 24%. The Presidency rated 26%. The criminal justice system: 20%.

The highest confidence rating? The US military, at 71%.

Sounds about right, except that I believe the number for the presidency is skewed quite a bit by both lefty media crappola, as well as Bush’s own problem with blowing his own horn. He and his people have been negligent in highlighting their accomplishments, while his shortcomings have gotten way too much press.

  2. Effort put into maintaining public image, within the military: Damn near zero. They care about it, fer sure, but no mission will be sacrificed for it.

Effort put into maintaining public image, within Congress: Hundred percent. It’s their reason for being. They’ll sacrifice anything for it.

So the guys who try to be popular, aren’t, and the ones who don’t, are. That’s a very crude summary but it holds true. There’s a lesson there. And it relates to people.

Ellsworth Toohey: Mr. Roark, we’re alone here. Why don’t you tell me what you think of me? In any words you wish. No one will hear us.

Howard Roark: But I don’t think of you.

I have faith in congress… faith that will totally F* things up and to do the wrong this for America. Congress stopped being about helping the people, and more about congress helping congress along time ago. They should all be fired.

I thought Nancy Pelosi said they were going to change the negative opinions Americans have of Congress when her party won the majority, and she was elected Speaker of the House!

I wonder why this poll is not highlighted on the evening news every other night like the presidential approval ratings are.:-w

Next time they tell ya about Bush’s approval ratings, tell em, Hey!, I got some approval ratings for ya. Right here!>:/

  6. I don’t know, that sounds high. Of course, the 12% were probably those on welfare that were part of the survey. Or members of congress. Same difference.

I’ve been saying for many months that Mme Pelosi and her pals are more than a little worried about losing their jobs. It’s why they’ve been busy pandering like there’s no tomorrow. First it was a cheesy attempt to buy their re-election with “stimulus” checks. Then it was billions in pork to bailout housing. Last week it was more unemployment benefits (tacked on to Iraq/Afghanistan military appropriations). Of course, they’re much too busy to even ATTEMPT anything designed to increase our nation’s energy supplies.

A pox on them all! b-)

High indeed Steve…….how on God’s green earth could a solitary soul actually believe either side of that lot is doing the job, the people voted them in for?

Maybe they polled the dead voters……………….again. <:-p
