Sorry - I know I’m way behind on this story but Hot Air’s got all the bases covered here, and MM has more here.

It was an excellent idea, showing the GOP were committed to trying to come to a resolution on this issue while Democrats were more concerned with going on their summer break.  Great images to show on the nightly news, considering how many Americans are complaining about rising gas prices.

  1. Everyone with a Democrat representative should remember this day; as they have had to change their vacation plans this Summer due to high gasoline prices, their congress-critters jetted out early to start their five week holiday.

  2. Amen Tom. From what I was getting last night about this, Pelosi was ordering the the lights out and the gallery cleared. Capitol police were even ushering out the news corps. The Reps that were left behind were inviting people down onto the floor of the house.

This is nuts for Pelosi and Co. to do such a thing as this. Do they honestly believe that they can go on their vacation while hard working American’s stay home with their 600 buck stimulus checks?? What foolishness, and hopefully this will translate into a Dem defeat this November. I just can’t honestly believe that she believes the misery of the American people is going to help the Dem party in some fashion. Such stupidity. - Lorica

  3. And the MSM is reporting this (when they bother) as Republican hijinks, and not even mentioning the Dems escape from town.:-w
