Panthers at the Vikings (UPDATE: PANTHERS LOSE 20-10)

Panthers logoThe 2-0 Panthers hope to continue their winning streak today as they visit the 0-2 Minnesota Vikings, who are hungry for a win. WR Steve Smith will be back in action after serving a 2 game suspension for a nasty pre-season altercation with cornerback Ken Lucas in which Smith broke Lucas’ nose. Cutie Vikings QB Gus Frerotte will take over starting duties over Tarvaris Jackson for the rest of the year.

The Panthers 2-0 wins (against the Chargers and Bears) this year both come as the result of close games that were nailbiters right up until the end, so I anticipate tough battle today, even with the return of Smith.

Game time is 1 PM ET, and it will be broadcast on Fox.

Update 1 – 3:54 PM: It’s official: The Patriots have lost their first regular season game in, like, forever, to Miami – 38-13.

Update 2 – 4:04 PM: It was not a good day for the Cats. After going up 10-0 in the first half, a sack turned into a fumble, and it turned into a TD before the end of the half for the Vikings, and it was all downhill from there. Final score: 20-10.
