Obama “art” coming to a mainstream store near you

Usually, the places where one could usually find displays of Obama “art” were at trendy Democrat parties, streetside cafes, and other liberal enclaves. Now? Stores like Home Goods are selling “art” you can believe in. CNN has to be so proud! Here’s the email I got from HomeGoods:

It’s such a “fresh” concept, that you can’t even find anything about it on the website. :((

I’d seen something on the Kohl’s website recently about Obama, but can’t find it this afternoon.

I can see having an ‘official’ portrait of a President hanging in your office, but the artwork angle is a little creepy to me and reminds me (again) of the celebrity/idol factor that Obama brings to politics and the presidency – and to our culture. Of course, this is something else that gained popularity over a year ago after Obama himself authorized the use of his image for campaign-created/related artistic posters.

I wonder if over time this will prove embarrassing for Obama. He won over the (mostly) complacent masses with elegant words and soaring rhetoric, but he has a compulsion about wanting everyone to like him, and I suspect now he’ll continue his effort to try and win over all but his harshest critics, and may find that, stateside at least, the celebrity/idol-like image he cultivated and then tried to run away from towards the end of the campaign may be more of a hindrance to him than a help.

We shall see.

    Interesting…

“The Art of Change – Hope, Believe, Dream”

Nothing there about actually doing anything. I can see a lot of liberals sitting on their butts hoping, believing and dreaming for the next four years.

This nonsense is everywhere. This one will make you laugh, or cringe. Maybe both (you have been warned). And someone with more money than sense paid over $600 on eBay for it.

GWR What in the world was that? Ok First off, why is the unicorn picking the bears nose? What in the world was BO doing with both those animals naked?

They forgot the most important one….”obey”

Capitalism is alive! The Leftist ‘Cult of Personality’ is alive and sickening, but at least the capitalists are making money off it!

    Good for them!

    Heheheee!:d

Ha ha ha what a hoot – HomeGoods is a “leftover” store – like Marshalls, Ross, TJ Maxx. It sells all the stuff that the real mainstream stores can’t sell.

  7. Ryan says:

Did I not hear him say that we needed to “set our sights lower” today?

So much for hoping, believing, and dreaming. LOL

  8. Great White Rat says:

BeachBabe, maybe the unicorn is just giving the bear a nose-piercing. But I had the same reaction you did, at first. :d

As for the second question, I refuse to speculate.

  10. I haven’t been out shopping in a while.

But based on all this fawning over BHO, I’m sure that we’ll see plenty of this “memorabilia” on sale everywhere in the D.C. area, where I live.

As the falling over ourselves continues. Drudge has a report up about someone asking all of these Hollywood celebs what biblical person President Obama resembles. =)) OMG How much longer can this go on???

Only Denzel Washington was wise enough not to really answer the question.

Denzel Washington, however, was reluctant to draw a parallel between Obama and a Biblical character.

“What Biblical character?” Washington said. “As Mr. Obama has said, it’s not about him. It’s about us. It’s about what we do collectively.”

Happily I can still go see a Denzel W. movie. :D – Lorica

I was in Kmart this past weekend and shook my head. In the toy section, there were posters of the new president among the posters of The Jonus Brothers, Hannah Montana, etc. And for the adults, there was framed “art” in the homegoods section.

I didn’t check to see if Kmart is selling bobbleheads yet
