Jake Tapper schools Robert Gibbs on transparency

Posted by: ST on February 6, 2009 at 10:14 am

Throughout the media frenzy over Barack Obama last year, ABC News’ Jake Tapper was a bright beacon of light, shining scrutiny onto all candidates, not just those on one side of the aisle or another. He has continued his exemplary work this week, as in this video clip you can see him schooling Obama spox Robert Gibbs on Obama’s position on transparency during yesterday’s press briefing. Ouch.

The relevant part of the transcript is here, but the video is much better.

My hat continues to be off to Tapper. Too bad more mainstream media journalists don’t take his approach to reporting the facts.

Oh, my … for pc shame. By now we should all be very well versed in “do as I say, not as I do.” I’m loving every minute of this and YOU for sharing! =d>

Wow! That was actual journalism in action. If there had been more of that in evidence last year, I have my doubts that Hopey McChange™ would be our alleged president.

  3. Well, really, Gibbs seems like he would be pretty easy to school :d

Seriously, how does someone get to be a press secratary when they say “ah” and “um” about every 3rd word or so….oh, right, forgot who was elected president.

I can’t even listen to his press conferences, because then I catch myself doing it.

I’m shocked that Helen Thomas didn’t try to kill him for being critical of the one. Even though she looked like she wanted to bite him about a minute into the clip…
