At the Fox Forum, Peter Roff – ‘Senior Fellow, Institute for Liberty/former Senior Political Writer, United Press International’ – writes a scathing piece on the WH’s efforts to demonize Rush Limbaugh – and via extension the GOP. The money quotes:
A political operative, based inside the White House, employed by the president of the United States and receiving a salary from the American taxpayer, goes to work every day to help direct a strategy against a broadcaster whose opinions are supposed to be covered by every protection the First Amendment can provide. To quote Shakespeare, “Something is rotten.”
[...]
For the White House to employ an operative whose responsibility is, fundamentally, to direct a political strategy aimed, not at shaping is response to criticism but to take down a single media figure goes well beyond of the pale of an acceptable response.
The American people have a right to know who this person is, what their duties are and how much they are paid. And the White House press corps has the responsibility to ask the questions that will get us the answers to these questions. This is not a matter of idle curiosity; it is a question of power, and tax dollars, being abused.
Read the whole thing.

You know, the longer we are under the Obama regime, the more I am beginning to just despise this man. Not just what he is doing to Rush, Cramer and Santelli, but I think he is purposefully causing our stock market to tumble, much like when gas was heading to 5.00 a gallon. He wanted that to happen. Now also is this whole thing with Gordon Brown. What kind of buffoon would give Mr. Brown 25 DVDs??? If you are going to be that callous, why not give him blue ray and a new blue ray player??? Then Michelle gives the Brown boys White House gift shop toy helicoptors?? WTF?!?!?!?!? Who are these people?? This is a visiting head of state, how rude of the Obamas to be so flipit. I think it is time for impeachment, this man cannot possibly represent the best the US has to offer, and he should not in anyway hold this position. – Lorica

Well, to be fair, Brown is not Head of State but Head of Government. I wonder what the Obamas will give the Queen (who is the Head of State) and her family when they come here, as I presume they will fairly soon. As I said before with reference to Michelle O, the Queen can deal with most things.
I’m thinking Chia Obama!
I stand corrected, but a box of 25 DVDs is still an insult to Prime Minister Brown. He is still a visiting dignitary and he deserves a great deal more recognition than what Barry gave to him. I have to wonder if this is going to be a standard gift for visiting dignitaries?? Maybe Best Buy could just wrap it up, and offer it as a Christmas Special. “Come on down to your local Best Buy store and get the President’s special, that’s right people 25 DVDs for just 99.95!!”
Also, read my link, apparently Barry jumped at the chance to visit the Queen when she offered an invitation for tea. Maybe he will ask for a Pepsi and show up in jeans and a tank top. – Lorica
I know this is no consolation but, quite honestly, neither Obama can be quite as badly behaved and as mannerless as Cherie Blair was.
You’re right, it is not consolation. Cherie Blair was not the Prime Minister. My problem isn’t so much with Michelle even tho I do expect better from her. My problem is with Barack, this is such pathetic form that it really is upsetting. Especially when you compare it to the gifts that Gordon gave Barack. – Lorica
I am so embarassed about all of this/ I am black and I didn’t vote for him either. Whenever I go some place, I wonder when I look at people and I hate to use the word white because you really are not white( maybe pink
that I voted for him. This is pure ghetto acting to me and NO CLASS! I am so sorry but I think it will create a wedge between the citizens in the US. Are there some of us out there? Conservative blacks? Where are you guys? From a Christian conservative black sister! I think he has a mental problem folks. Look at his home life. There were no positive role models not even a positive spiritual christian role model. He REALLY believes he is like the Messiah! He does!!!! But he’s not my Messiah of the Bible. Had to let this out.

Rush speaks for conservatives like McCain did for Republicans: not at all. Sure, he verbalizes many of the mainstream conservative positions, but he doesn’t speak “for” us, never did, never will. No one ever elected him, no one ever appointed him (other than a donkey party scared spitless that people will listen to what he has to say), and, as far as I know, he has no plans to ever run for such a position.
Obama, on the other hand, is the duly nominated presidential candidate elected as president of the United States, so he is in fact the voice of the Democrats. What he says (or allows to be said by his appointees) are in fact what his sycophants (especially in the MSM) are painted with, and so far they’ve tried to paint Americans as cowards, ignorant and backwards, and only he and his agenda can save us.
Quite frankly, I’d rather have Rush describing America than the Big Zero because he is an optimist and Zero is, well, a zero.
