Cape Coral, FL “tea party” canceled; City fears too many attendees

That is ridiculous. Do protesters on the mall in DC need insurance? Because we can all take it there!
Actually, the 500-person “free-limit” is pretty standard for city parks all across FL (that’s where I grew up and moved to CO from).
If you search “Livestock” “concert” “Zephyrhills, FL” – that’s the biggest annual shindig in central FL – they had to move it out to Festival Park (outside of any city-limit) after it passed a certain size – for exactly the same reason.
When I left, the city of Zephyrhills was trying to annex the area – just for the revenue from the concert.
As you can see – LINK
– that would be MUCH harder to do in/around Cape Coral.
Honestly – I’m a little surprised that the woman running it didn’t think of that.
All things considered, It’s quite a stretch to characterize that as “protest was shut down by the government”.
However, now that she’s gone on-record with “I have rescinded any organizing or supervision or what ever you want to call it over this tea party on April 1st.” – should all of those people just “happen” to show up anyway…
In getting our message out in the coming days, the one thing we have to be careful about is not coming off like all of the nutters of the past 8 years – we have Right on our side – we hurt our cause by sounding like Susan Sarandon, holding a press conference to talk about how she’s afraid to speak against the government in public.
…which is not at all like saying we shouldn’t keep our eyes sharp for the real dissent-quashing that’s almost certain to come, once the Emperor realizes that he has no clothes.
Keep watching,

So what happens if 501 people show up, and there’s no one who “organized” the event or was willing to be liable for any damages (such as a wingnut starting a fight with peaceful protesters)? Does the sheriff start arresting people for “unlawful assembly”? Does the local guvmint, post-event, assign responsibility back to the person who disavowed responsibility, because the protest took place anyway?
Lots of questions come to mind, the biggest one having to do with the constitutional guarantee of “lawful assembly”, since that’s the excuse the anarchists here in the NW use.

Been to a few websites, anyone one of them I try to link into the full story about Cape Coral comes up with an error???
Seems the winknews.com article has been taken away from public view.
